1) I´ll give you that one

2) I´ll give you that one

3) N64 grabbed a 22% marketshare that gen (How they managed to let A NEW GUY to grab the rest of the market will always baffle me)

4) GC grabbed an 11% of marketshare that gen.

And this is Nintendo we´re talking about.  The oldest and possibly more recognizable brand of them all.

N64 did mediocre and GC did poorly, how does that support your argument?

My argument was that Nintendo is one of the most respected brand in gaming history and yet it has had a couple of consoles that have performed worst than the X1.  So that´s why I dont see the X1 like such a big failure.

Impossible to know, but we can say with certainty that none of these measures has saved the system from selling mediocre numbers and being destined to be left behind by both the PS4 and the Switch.

But, didn't you know that from the beginning?  I mean, did you really think (even if for a second) that the X1 would ever catch up to the PS4?

Yes, the X1 has sold mediocre numbers, but at least MS has tried.  I mean, they could have done what Nintendo did with the Wii U, you know, just ride it out until they had a new console ready.

That's what I'm saying, none of the measures taken to try to boost the Xbone significantly altered its fate.

No. In Jan 2018 there was nothing, in 2019 there is NSMBU and even if you don't want to accept this idea : this game will keep selling just constantly, it will keep selling at a regular pace in 2 years still while everybody will have forgotten RDR2...EVERY 5-6 years old children are just a bit too young to handle Mario Odysee but NSMBU is perfect for them.

Would Super Mario Maker 2 kill its legs?

No. Again, for a 5-6 years old child, it is too complex. My nephew wanted Splatoon and Mario Odysee, I can barely let him play alone more than a minute on Odysee, and on Splatoon it is almost impossible. SMM2 is not adapted for 5-6.

Xbox one s is 229 with games bundled in. And almost 199 at most major retailers.

One x is 399 with fallout.

Vs

Ps4 at 299
And pro at 399.

The PS4 is doing 2:1 in the US and an estimated 5:1 world wide or more vs Microsoft. This is severe. Microsoft is in a HORRIFIC position right now. As bad as they were at the beginning of the gen one may argue.

More powerful console
Cheaper console
Better so called value with game pass

And they are falling off hard.

The Nintendo brand has remained strong thanks to their popular IP and handheld performance. Outside of Wii their home console market had been poor in the 21st century so doing better than GC & Wii U doesn't mean much.

Ps4 has to be $199 from now on but I doubt Sony will cut the price permanently.

I expect a cut to 249$ later this year but 199$ only during some holiday promotions

January Summaries :

Overall : 1) NS : 419.7 points/day (1.00) ; 2) PS4 : 320.9 points/day (0.76) ; 3) XBO : 43.7 points/day (0.10)

With the results released:

NS: 284k (1.00)
PS4: 195k (0.69)
XBO: 101k (0.36)

Another win for the tool predicting the rankings and the NS/PS4 ratio, although XBO is still weirdly underrepresented at online retailers.

So yeah, XBO was way undertracked but that was somewhat expected (it barely showed up at all in the sales early in the month because practically everybody who wanted an Xbox probably bought one during the holidays when they were much cheaper), on the other hand the Switch/PS4 ratio is pretty close to correct.

If the tool is correct next month again then Switch might deliver a trashing in February, current ratios are Switch (1.00), PS4 (0.50), XBO (0.43), meaning Switch is outselling PS4+XBO combined if correct.

Switch continues its domination.

nnnnn Xbox  imagine how bad its sales must be in Europe...

remember when people said that the X1 would dominate because the X1S and X1X had a UHD Blu ray player.... remember when they said that... on a gaming forum and were serious. not only are both models of the PS4 doing just fine with their regular blu ray drive but the Switch just got Youtube and that things selling like hotcakes just as a games device alone, I mean I guess you can put a blu ray disc into the dock while the Switch isn't in there... could keep it nice and warm, might scratch it though!

Been saying it since before Xmas now... X1 is in cascade failure mode, it's failing more each week because it failed in the previous week, has a knock on effect and is now very clearly the console to not buy.

In some degree, main point of NSMBU DX is local Co-Op with 2-4 players, while with Mario Maker is making and playing made levels.
