Look, no doubt a majority are willing to accept this, but can we just cut the crap and admit Switch's sales are impressive once and for all? None of this sneaking in a backhanded excuse for why it sold so well.
Switch will die off in January which is proof to me its not a console people run out to buy for themself's. Its a case of either il wait till Xmas to get one or people buying a gift for someone
...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

I doubt it. With Smash and Pokémon still giving it momentum.

The only reason Switch sold well is that it has good games that people want to play. If it didn't have that, then Nintendo would be doomed!
Last edited by The_Liquid_Laser - on 23 January 2019curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6

It's selling on par with the ps4 at the same point in its life. Nsmbu should keep momentum up throughout January.

LMAO, literally the next post after AngryAlchemist called out this behaviour.
It's always something isn't it? "The Wii is only selling cos of soccer mums!" "The Switch is only selling cos people are buying it for others!" "The Wii is just a fad, it'll fall off a cliff in 2008!"
Some people really have a hard time accepting it when Nintendo succeeds.

Iirc last year Switch outsold the PS4 during the Holidays. I think we will go back to seeing the PS4 outselling the Switch consistently on a weekly basis sometime in January. |
In Japan, Switch is miles ahead
In the US, Switch is well ahead too if the NPD tool is to believed
That leaves Europe and RoW, and it looks like, while the PS4 is probably still in front here, it won't be enough to offset US+Japan anymore

I agree. 2019 will be the first full year since its launch that PS4 doesn't win worldwide. Switch will take 2019 and 2020 worldwide.
2021 depends on the popularity of PS5 and XB Next.
