What the hell is up with Monster Hunter world and RDR2. Both of them have HDR settings but it's more like anti HDR, the picture gets more washed out with a narrower range of colour. My TV's HDR effect mode is better at it than that actual HDR in those games. Anyone know of any other good third party Pro enhanced, 4k and HDR games? I've had a go at all the exclusives bar Detroit BH and Horizon is still my favourite, haven't seen anything that gets that good even though Lost legacy does it pretty well also.

Have you tried SotC remake? It's not as in your face as in other titles yet it greatly enhances the game. Tetris Effect is lovely in HDR yet only 1080p.

I have all the settings enabled on tv and pro but I rather run without the breakout box anyway. It must be adding some display lag if it's touching the signal. I rather directly connect to the tv and use ARC for sound to keep display lag to a minimum. The random blackouts happened without the breakout box and stopped after switching the ps4 pro to HDCP 1.4. It wasn't frequent, most days not at all, yet when you are in the middle of an online race and the screen blacks out for 1 second in a corner, not good.

RDR2 doesn't have HDR (although it's an "option" in the game), there are several videos and articles about that.

That's idiotic. Don't know how they'd think they'd get away with that.

They sold like 10m copies in 2 weeks, I think they got away with it fine.

I was going to try SoTC but I seen TLG already in my library so I'm DL'ing that, Detroit and GT sport. I did try tetris effect and it's quite cool in the menus but the effects are fairly unimpressive outside of VR.

Did you turn HDR on in the menu? I think it looks quite lovely. I actually prefer it on my 4K HDR tv than in PSVR.
I should play TLG again, played that before I had the 4K HDR tv. Thanks for reminding me of that one :)

GTS is still the best though. Every time I play that it still wows me.

I'm downloading GT sport cause of exactly that, everyone says it's the best hdr but god almighty it's nearly 90 gigs now. And yeah, I turned tetris effect HDR on manually in game, it's good yeah, it just the FoV blocks most of the effects outside of vr.

I think the best thing I've watched in 4k hdr was some videos of fireworks in youtube, it's definitely a video medium and has yet to be taken advantage of in games fully.

Oh, wait until you play GTS. The sunset versions of the tracks look very real as well as night time. TVs aren't quite bright enough to make sunny day time contrast look like outside yet the morning and late afternoon almost have it spot on and lighting at night is sublime. There is fireworks too in GTS! Not sure where yet completing a Tokyo race at night in FIA championship had lovely fireworks in the last lap.

It added a lot in SotC as well in the darker scenes. So much any screenshots were doomed. Day time looks a bit nicer due to the brighter sky. SotC has a static sky box though, very lovely in HDR yet doesn't change much.

You can change the FOV in Tetris Effect on TV, zoom in or out and look around. It's easier in VR of course yet some effects look pretty flat in VR. It's a toss up, completing journey mode looks amazing in both.

God damn it is indeed. Purrty. I find the livery preview screen the most impressive though, as the cars in 4k on that level of white and range of colour is crqxy photo realistic, it makes the cars pop like they are physical objects in the room. Very impressed by the skies too but the environments take me out of it as there needs to be muted colours for realism in certain places, it's a bit of a waste to throw colour everywhere and onto everything. Still, extremely impressive, regardless.

Did you try the Nordschleife at different times of day? Morning with fog patches, night time. Tokyo is pretty muted as well. Those two are my favorites in 4K HDR. I love that color red they used when you win a car from track experience or completing a challenge. Unfortunately you need to complete the game first to get that sexy night driving through Tokyo video.

Looks lovely in HDR.
