KManX89 said: Terrible list. I get leaving out Crash and Spyro because they're getting remasters, but where's Tomb Raider, Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross/Trigger, etc.? There were so many better choices than what we were given. Glad I didn't pre-order this. |
Well they could still add the first Crash and Spyro, that might encourage people to get the remaster. But maybe Activision wasn't interested.
I'll say this, the PlayStation was great because it had a very diverse library that appealed to many types of gamers. Essentially its difficult to create a perfect line up because the library is so diverse and wouldn't want to create a collection of many games that fall in the same genre.
But... they also made some weak choices. Tekken was a good choice, but it should have been Soul Blade over Toshinden. There are more iconic RPGs than Persona. Rayman 2 had much more praise than the original game. Puzzle Fighter is fine for the puzzle void I guess, but why not Street Fighter Alpha 3 as well? Castlevania SOTN is a crucial title not on this list.
I just don't know what to make of this list, its has notable content, maybe its worth a $100 if you even enjoy half the list, but its far from a definitive collection. I think people could get more excited about a Sega Saturn collection over this.
