Worse-than-Wii visuals at 240p with no TV play option is gimped compared to better-than-Wii U HD visuals with the flexibility to play both on the go and on the big screen.

Don't ignore the controls, please. I can only dream of playing that game on a Pro controller, the 3DS hurt my hands.

Duly noted and added.

Have you ever played Kid Icarus Uprising on 3ds? Now that is pain.

I haven't, but I plan on doing so, since everyone recommends it so highly. I'm lefty, though, I assume that makes it even more painful for me than for most people? I don't think I'm ready.

The game play like Star Fox, but with a long and amazing story mode. It's really awesome to be honest, just expect hand cramps.

They're not, neither is Samus Returns.

You mean Etrian Odyssey/Persona Q series?

That doesn't matter, the game allows you to adjust the controls to a certain extent. But I recommend this kickstand thingy that they produced along with the game because holding the 3DS in one hand for several minutes gets tiring.

WELL DID ANYONE EXPECT IT TO?

It's a remake of a 30-year-old game.
It's METROID, one of the most niche high-profile properties Nintendo keeps alive.
And really. The 3DS audience just might not be the crowd for it in general. I think rather few New Leaf players were looking to Metroid for a kick.

And now we have another remake of a 3DS game launching. Luigi's Mansion. Down about 90% over Dark Moon's week one, and lower week one sales than Metroid in Metroid's weakest region, despite being a franchise that typically sells way better. So... yeah, maybe remakes on the 3DS just don't really sell that much at this point.
