i'm not surprised. i'm sure its mostly extreme nintendo fans that all of a sudden can't enjoy gaming on a tv anymore, and switch has changed their lives. all of a sudden cross play the holy grail of gaming. all it takes is 500-1000 to make a lot of noise in reality nobody cares.

I'm more upset about holding EG accounts hostage than the lack of cross-play. Cross-play would be nice too so people who have different platforms can play with their friends.

Yea if you spent  money on fortnite, and want to play on the go that sucks. Many of the complaints are about crossplay, and who doesn't own a ps4 or PC at this point, besides most people already know you buy a console that your friends are gonna be on if you care for online console gaming. Microsoft now that there market has dwindled to doing  only good in the US are trying to get on that exclusive friend list that's why they are so desperate to be the good guy.

I recommend doing the 50 vs 50 matches

Thank you. I especially like this mode because it feels like you are in a little battle. It melts the Switch, though.

'Now that we used the PS4 platform to make our battle royale mode super successful and don't have to worry anymore about our game bombing, we are now committed to changing our minds about the contract we signed that forced us to do this but also made us rich and saved our asses. If it wasn't for this deal and the PS4 platform, the game at best would be much less successful and probably wouldn't have even caused this to become an issue in the first place, since PS would have just found something else. Thank you PS for your help but it's our turn to try and screw you now, and you the gaming community are welcome. Aren't we just the greatest everyone? Who doesn't like a backstabber?'

These are your words, not Epic's.

I wasn't aware that some supreme being made Epic the speaker of all that is truth and only truth. Must be epic not knowing how or being able to lie or manipulate...

Yes, I know, PS said 'we are for the gamers', which apparently means they need to offer gamers everything that is or could be available in the industry immediately.

Or PS just not abduct people's Fortnite accounts.

Just Fortnite or all games going forward? I also like how you used "or" and not 'that is preposterous'...

Why can't they be more like MS and keep their word? MS said no sharing games and always online, and they did that, or wait, they didn't.

They didn't? Good.

What about the XB gamers that jumped on board right away because they wanted that? They had it taken away from them due to others complaining. You think that's ok? Do some people need to sacrifice or be left out for the greater good in the long run? Was it? Isn't that why Epic signed with PS?

KLAMarine said:

Well they also said they hated exclusivity and weren't going to do that, and they followed through, or wait, they actually locked down PUBG and 4 third party studios and more. Ok but they definitely mentioned a big reason to get XB1X would be for VR soon when ready, and their working on that, or wait, they aren't bothering with it at all anymore...

If this is how third party studios are going to behave going forward, PS is either going to fold, maybe, or they are going to pour money into as many third party future games as possible and make everything solely exclusive to PS4/PS5 so this can't happen again. It won't be a problem either because that's what MS is doing in a way, and nobody seems to care about that.

Third party studios shouldn't ask for cross-platform access and play. Who do they think they are, game developers trying to please their customers?

Signing contracts then trying to back out of them? It's not like Epic had no plans for cross play back then and it just popped up. They knew and chose to go without. Now they are changing their minds and it's too late, yet they seem to be happy to try and stab PS in the back if they can. Good lesson for PS about what can happen if you try to help a company and as many gamers as possible instead of completely locking games down to strictly your own platform and/or the other platforms you choose to help make you look good.

Depends on the dev. If the dev doesn't want their accounts compromised by any other entity then that desire should be respected.

Not sure where those quotations came from because they weren't there before. If you can't compare what was said in those articles to that then there is no point in arguing.

Is Epic doing PS any favors by trying to renege on their agreed upon terms? Is PS saying publicly they will retaliate on Epic like Epic is on PS? Allowing them to put Fortnite on PS4 and sell micro transactions wasn't helping either? PS did agree to that but obviously requested locking down accounts and cross play in return. Do platforms have no rights? Maybe just timed rights like timed exclusivity?

If they're fine with locking accounts then there's no issue between dev and platform though I expect the player base not being as happy with that.

EG does not strike me as the company that is okay with Fortnite accounts being restricted like they are currently.

PS is fully able to enforce these policies of theirs. It's their platform after all. Just the same, people are able to protest and criticize it as anti-consumer as they please. EG is free to say that they want cross-play and cross-access as well.

I have to admit the lock account thing is BS and has to be fixed, i suspect sony wants to fix it, but it's more complicated then it seems, they can probably get sues for this.

Im confused with this post. There is over 7.6 billion people on this planet and you are comparing a device that isnt even a 1/4 of a billion sold LT and most PC owners dont play games. To say who doesnt own a PS4 and or PC is alittle immature.

You should never force your customers in on your device, and from what i am reading cross-play isnt the problem, its the account locking which is a desperate/greedy move to gain your player base.

There are plenty of Switch and PS4 owners much like there is for other devices.. those logging on the Switch and than want to play on PS4 are forced to only play on PS4 which is nothing but a greedy tactic. This is something i expect a mega corp like MS to do, not a middle of the road company like Sony.

Strange how the bigger company is playing fair and the smalling company isnt. Whats sad to me is how there are people out there defending Sony's decision, regardless who does this should be recognized, labelled and called out.

Did you miss my post above yours, I agree sony should fix the issue with account locking, as for cross play it's up to sony, i'm good with what ever they choose, but i understand if they don't.

I sort of agree with the cross play aswell however its still not a good image to have by not allowing it. There really is no benefit to the consumer by not allowing it.

Its all in favor of the buisness not the consumer move.

Yes i missed your latest post so i will say its good to see people jumping on them for locking the accounts. Its a new low for anti consumer policies. There really is no point in doing that apart from there thinking "we own the gaming industry, and we own the consumers" mentality.
