Microsoft: 9.3/10

Ranking and rating the Microsoft conference is difficult because it seems like the big three (Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony) are held to different standards than the others (Bethesda, Devolver Digital, EA, Square Enix, Ubisoft) due to them being platform holders. On one hand, yeah it's true that there probably wasn't enough there to make me buy an Xbox One (2/3 of their output was Halo/Gears/Forza), but it did make me glad to already have one. So, my ratings are less 'how much does this make me want an Xbox' and more 'how hyped am I for the games'. With that said, here we go!

Halo Infinite – 9/10 – Not the biggest fan of Halo overall, but I love the more natural aesthetic they're going for and I think this really could be a great one if it's done right. Halo is always a big win. Top score.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps – 10/10 – I'm totally basic here, but I absolutely love artsy 2D platforming metroidvania stuff and Ori is one of the only things I have on Xbox One that makes me giddy with joy. Seriously, my body is ready.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – 10/10 – While part of me is disappointed this isn't Bloodborne or Dark Souls, it looks great and I am incredibly excited for it regardless. Looks basically like what if Nioh met Tenchu, and I am okay with this.

Fallout 76 – 9/10 – Absolutely loved Fallout 4, I love the idea of this being a more lush and pretty take on Fallout, and if the rumors are true it'll have an emphasis on base building, which is something I loved in Fallout 4.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit – 7/10 – Haven't played the other Life is Strange stuff but I'd be lying if the nostalgia in the trailer didn't tug my heartstrings a bit. Honestly, I'm intrigued and optimistic.

Crackdown 3 – 5/10 – Meh. I mean, it doesn't look bad or anything and I'm sure it'll end up being fine, but it's not for me.

NieR: Automata Become as Gods – 8/10 – Love seeing that this game is getting more love, though I confess as a PS4 fangirl that it hurts a bit to lose an exclusive. Still, outstanding game and it'll be great to see Xbox players get a chance at it.

Metro Exodus – 6/10 – This is another one I think is gonna be okay. It looks good and all, but I don't think it'll be for me.

Kingdom Hearts 3 – 10/10 – The Story is still a mess and I think it's overdramatic, but DAMN it's awesome to see more Kingdom Hearts 3 stuff! The gameplay is head and shoulders above other action RPGs and I love the new worlds shown in this trailer. Can't wait to see more.

Sea of Thieves Expansions – 2/10 – I'm to understand Sea of Thieves is getting better, but man the vanilla release soiled itself all over me and didn't even have the courtesy to apologize. I can't be excited for this. Too little too late.

Battlefield V – 3/10 – Meh, again. I mean, we already saw this yesterday with EA's presentation and it looked fine then. No new information, no new trailers, just the same thing we saw. Pass.

Forza Horizon 4 – 9/10 – I don't even like Forza (or racing games in general) and this looks outstanding. I love the weather mechanics, I love the arcadey look and feel. I love the graphics and the locale. Can't wait to watch my roomie play this on my Xbox.

Microsoft Studios 5 Acquisitions – 7/10 – This is a huge announcement and I'll remain cautiously optimistic. Honestly, I saw what they did to Rare and there's still a significant chance they could screw this up. Still, huge win, huge get, good stuff.

We Happy Few – 6/10 – I was sold on this ages ago, it looks okay and I still love the aesthetic, but man it's taking too long and my hype for it has gone from an 8 to a 6 and it's declining even more. Moving on.

PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds: War mode – 1/10 – I know this is a HUGE deal for Microsoft and all, but man I hate PUBG. It's ugly, it's unoriginal, I hate the devs for trying to sue other devs who try Battle Royale modes, and the game is just janky unpolished garbage. Still, it's immensely popular and I guess it's a big deal.

Tales of Vesperia – 7/10 – Good game and all, good to see it on Xbox. Congrats to them! Not much to say beyond that.

The Division 2 – 3/10 - I'm being harsh here, but meh. Generic third person action shooter from Ubisoft. I love some of their stuff, this is not one of the things I like. Moving on.

Gaming montage – 9/10 – Honestly, I don't remember anything that was in this montage, but I remember liking 90% of it! Indies galore, a bunch of cool shit I'd play in a heartbeat, and if any of it is Xbox exclusive, it'll make me turn my system back on! Good showing!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider – 7/10 – Yep, it's tomb raider. The other two were good, and this one will be, too! Not for me, though.

Session – 7/10 – Again, one of those things where it's a good game, but not for me. Also, why wasn't this at the EA conference? Would have greatly helped that trash fire of a show.

Black Desert – 5/10 – Loved the look and feel, but then I did research and saw it was an MMO. Neutral response here.

Devil May Cry 5 – 9/10 – Daaaaamn! This got me moist! Loved 1, 3, and 4 from the original series, didn't like 2 or the Ninja Theory remake. Can't wait to play this and rekindle that old flame.

Cuphead in the Delicious Last Course – 8/10 – Loved Cuphead, Can't wait to play this. Not a lot to say, though, other than 'hey, more cuphead!'

Tunic – 8/10 – I confess I have a soft spots for animals adventuring, plus this looks like Zelda and it looks cute as can be. I'll be picking this up regardless of what platform it's on, but great showing.

Jump Force – 6/10 – I like the idea of this but I've long since grown out of anime. It'll be good for others, but not for me.

Dying Light 2 – 8/10 – Never played the first one and I'm hesitant about all the promises of divergent paths and all that, but what I saw impressed me and I'm eagerly looking forward to it!

Battletoads – 7/10 – As of right now it's too early to tell, but damn I'm stoked for more Battletoads! And Couch Co-op? Yes please! Also, it's an exclusive, so my roomie and I will play.

Just Cause 4 – 7/10 – I know it's strange, but I'm just not into Just Cause. Like Saints Row and Crackdown, too much silly over the top stuff. Still, looks fun and my roomie thew a fit of joy!

Gears Pop/Tactics – 4/10 – So that's a thing that exists, I guess. Tactics looks like it could be fun, but I'm pretty sure they said it was on mobile and nothing douses me more than Mobile Gaming. If it turns out to be on PC, bring it up to a 6/10.

Gears of War 5 – 9/10 – I loves me some Gears of War and this seems to be shifting up the formula enough to keep it intriguing. A natural progression in the franchise and I can't believe I've already seen some people saying it's “Gears of War: SJW Edition” because you play as a woman. Seriously, if you actually use 'SJW' as an insult for the crime of having a female protagonist, seriously go away (I had much harsher things to say, but figured I'd get at least a warning for it; seriously, if you're this kind of person, you're absolutely terrible and toxic and should feel bad and I bet your mother is disappointed in you). But, beyond that, Damn this looks good! Kudos and keep up the great work.

Cyberpunk 2077 – 9/10 – Hell of a way to end the whole thing. No gameplay trailer or information, but given the studio and the tone/aesthetic, I'm stoked. Great job with this.

Now, keep in mind my score of 9.3 is based solely on the fact that there was JUST SO MUCH going on here. So many games, so many reveals, and yeah a decent number of exclusives. Like I said, from a platform holder standpoint, maybe a 4/10 or something, but when you factor in how many games were shown that I'm excited for, it's easily one of the best presentations I've ever seen.

Sony has a LOT to live up to! I'm sure they'll do better with exclusives, but it's gonna be SO hard to best that in terms of sheer volume and content! Two thumbs up, Microsoft!

Wow easy allies gave the conference together a 9.4/10

The conference was great. Microsoft seems to be more dedicated to gaming than ever. Definitely a 9/10 conference. Lot's of cool games.

Oh I forgot about DMC 5...holy shit that was hype. Nevermind, my rating is a 9/10.

Man, Microsoft really knew what they were doing this time round.

It will be one of the best E3s if Sony brings it like MS did today. Bravo MS, Bravo!

This was on par with Sony's 2015 for them.

9/10 for me to cut it short as it's late but I gotta say I was interested in pretty much everything they showed with only a couple of games I thought I'm probably not getting/ on the fence about currently.

It seems like MS grabbed every major AAA third party game for their conference, other than Borderlands 3, RDR2, and CoD. What other games am I missing?

There’s games from Ubisoft and Bethesda, but those will likely stick to those companies’ own conferences.

4/10
Nothing impressive, nothing that will make me go out to buy a Xbox One. Very few games I will actually play. It was a good show, but the selection of games is just not for me, besides some key games like Cyberpunk.
