The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

PSN: StlUzumaki23

Octopath Traveler next in the Treehouse stream.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I wonder if Nintendo will do a bundle with fortnite. It would be smart going into the holiday .

This is sarcasm, right?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

No, i like sarcasm a lot but this was genuine.

I have mostly seen the standard Nintendo bundles with the Mario/Zelda/Splatoon 2 here in Europe. I was even surprised that i didn't see bundle with FIFA given that it's Europe and WK2018. So it was a real question to see if Nintendo themselves with get with a Fortnite bundle.

Also on topic: Fortnite was also download 2 million times already according to resetera.

True. For the most part yes, but the game is monetized anyway. So a bundle can be made with a preinstall with a 20$ amount of the given ingame currency or the Standard Founder’s Pack which as far as i know gives you the paying PvE part (and some other things).

Only now i saw the Nintendo Direct.

My expectations before: no 2019 games; an incoming letdown.
What i got:
Two 2019 games. Don't really know why they show 2 and not more, seeing as they said NO 2019 games. If you are going to break your rule, at least don't be shy about it.
17 minutes of non Smash talk. If you really love Smash you probably were in heaven - i didn't even watch because i don't care about the game.
Nintendo gives games like Hollow Knight and Overcooked, spotlight, and then says "oh, right, here's FIFA 19 and Dragon Ball Z"? Really? I mean, really? Why?

At first i was beggining to feel like the presentation was going to be better than i anticipated. Didn't take long for that feeling to go away…

Don't really understand how they can mismanage their time like this. Fifa 19 and Dragon Ball Z should have been given more time. Oh, i forgot about Deom's Souls - or whatever the name of the game.

Another year and no big, relevant, 3rd party game except for Fifa 19. Nothing to worry about.

What 2 games were 2019?

Fire Emblem was one I know, and I assume they showed that because they had been touting it as 2018 for so long they need to show it was still being made. If they didn't show it and said it was coming 2019, people would be pissed.

The way I took the Smash part was, the prior E3's were like 25 minutes, this was 45 minutes. Take out the 25 minutes of smash and replace it with a 5 minute smash section and you have a typical E3 for Nintendo. So this was sort of a E3/Smash Direct combined.

As for the Dragonball FighterZ and others montage that went by too fast, I sort of agree. I would have like those games ot get say a 30 second trailer each, but they were also not any surprises. Dragonball was leaked earlier and we knew it was coming due to the other games on that list either getting some spotlight or confirmed earlier in week. Or else the other games like Starlight, fifa was in other conferences.

Nautilus already answered your question.

I agree. Not showing anything by now wouldn't be understood by fans.
Yoshi got delayed but at least we saw plenty of it.

Actually that's not the typical length of a Nintendo E3 presentation.
Live presentations were usually more than 1 hour; pre-recorded presentations were above 40 minutes (there wasn't anything for 2016). Last year was the exception - and this year too, if we go by your point of view.

The fact that there were no surprises doesn't really change things. This was the plan all along.
If leaks hadn't happen it would have been even worse.

The problem wasn't just that they showed too little of FIFA 19 (saw a few games that were shown at a couple of presentations, but at least they were given the spotlight), it was that they chose to spend more time on a couple of Indies than on a multi-million selling franchise - especially important in Europe.
That's the part that i just can't wrap my head around. How is that ok? i really don't see how someone could think that it would be ok to do that.

No, just no.

I can only imagine the amount of outrage, shit that Nintendo would get if they were to announce a "BUNDLE" with a game that is free

Finally got around to watching Day 2 of the Treehouse. And Super Mario Party is Old School Mario Party. Thank You, God!!!
Definitely buying it!!
