Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best N64 game not by Nintendo or Rare

Yes I was serious about Quest 64, enjoyed the elemental powers and simplistic turned based battle system.

Hexen was also way up there. It ran similar to Doom, and I cooped it with my uncle. Countless hours and eventually beat it.

I also enjoyed Shadow man on Dreamcast, but was recently gifted it on 64 by my son (I can still hear the soundtrack running through my head on sleepless nights). 95 through 99 were not bad years for me for gaming.

Shadow man damn I didnt hear about that game for a long time I´d actually love to try that game on the N64.

Turok 1 & 2, ridge racer 64, beetle adventure racing, sin and punishment, wcw/nwo revenge, the crusin games,

Rayman 2, ISS 64, Beetle Adventure Racing, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, Rogue Squadron, San Francisco Rush, The World is not Enough etc

This may come off as sacrilege but I never cared for Rogue Squadron.

For one thing, the difficulty curve was ridiculous, some levels were a pushover, others were borderline impossible without cheats.

There were also waaaay to many escort missions. I swear at least half the levels boiled down to "protect helpless ship/building".

 sin and punishment

Awesome game, but co-developed by Nintendo apparently.

Harvest moon 64

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

Quest 64, fuck the haters.

I actually felt the same way.  I cannot tell you what it was about or why I liked it, but for some reason I could not stop playing lol.

Always wanted to try Wipeout 64 but never got the chance; for those who've played it, is it worth picking up?

WWF No Mercy, WWF Wrestmania 2000 and WCW/nWo Revenge. When it comes to ports its probably Resident Evil 2 the cut scenes looked a lot worse then the PS1 version but the overall game looked a lot better.

Basically this post and  Megeman Legends was good as well.

As far as best atmosphere and arguably best entry in a series = Doom 64.

For best sheer use of the system's hardware = Turok 2.

Funnest overall Non-Nintendo/Rare game = Mischief Makers / Tetrisphere / Beetle Adventure Racing
