Forums - Sony Discussion - Feelings about Uncharted 4?

Uncharted 4 almost ruined the franchise for me, so yeah I'd say you're not alone.

I love 1-3 and Golden Abyss.

It was just ''decent'' to me personally. Like others said story was predictable, game play was meh. Definitely not a bad game, I don't see how someone could legit say its a bad game, but I can see how they'd see it was ok to decent game.

2 still remains my favorite of the entire series.

I thought Uncharted 4's story was extremely disappointing, by far my least favorite out of all the main games.

It was very predictable, and it felt like they kept hitting you over the head every 5 minutes with "OH YEAH, AND DID WE MENTION HE HAS A BROTHER!?" despite the fact they already established that from the beginning of the game.

The gameplay was still really fun though, and I liked the way it ended at least for Nathan Drake's character. Multiplayer is great as well.

It's a good game still, but Uncharted 2 is still the best one.

the story is beyond predictable

Assuming you've played the rest of the series, I don't see how someone could single out 4 as having a predictable story or weak puzzles compared to its predecessors...

For me, 3 told the best story, and i got stuck on puzzles more than i did the other games. i never spent more than 5-8 mins on any of 4's puzzles...a couple i got right by pure guessing.

And maybe it was just me, but I really thought in UC3 *spoilers* sully was going to die in 3, they had me fooled, and it felt like that was going to be the wrap up for drakes trilogy. I admit i was disappointed with 3's ending, which really had me done with the series, part of the reason i put off play 4 for so long.

It's my least favorite in the series overall. Rafe is not a very good villain, the pacing sucks, some of the platforming is meh, the puzzles were meh.

3 > Lost Legacy > 1 > 2 > 4 imo.

haven't play lost legacy yet, but I also rank the games in this order. slide in Abyss after 1

Very good game but lost legacy is actually a good bit better

As some one who's played every game in the series except for lost legacy and as some one who at the same time absolutely doesn't care about the franchise, I would have to say 4 was actually my favorite with 3 in second place, again that doesn't mean much since I dont really enjoy the series much.

(unnecessary story time skip if you want) Uncharted 1 was bundled with my ps3, and I played it months later when I had nothing to play, I thought it was decent but nothing I was invested in or cared about ever playing again, so I skipped uncharted 2, than uncharted 3 came out and I was over a friends house and I played it on his 3d tv (back when sony tried making that a thing) enjoyed it way more than the first but still didn't care, than they had uncharted golden abyss for vita free on ps plus, I played it and again didn't care for it but needed something to play on my vita at the time. Than when uncharted 4 came out a friend of mine who lives and breaths uncharted begged me to play 2 before I played 4 which I wasn't planning to but he gave me 4 since he accidentally got 2 copies of the game sent to him, and I was just sick of the series so I didn't really find any enjoyment out of uncharted 2. SO than finally came the time to try out uncharted 4 since I would feel bad not playing it after he gave me a free copy, and I actually enjoyed playing that one, I thought the story was entertaining, nothing great, but it kept my interest, character wise I never cared about anyone aside from Sully but I did enjoy seeing Drake and Sam interact, the gameplay especially actually kept my attention since the other games In the series bored me with its gameplay within the early hours of the game. And lastly I actually enjoyed the slow moments. So I can say it was the only uncharted I actually enjoyed playing start to finish even though I absolutely dislike Rafe and Nadine. But still nothing I would ever want to play again.

Yeah, there were a ton of pacing issues in 4. Mad I bought the game at full price, but returned it to get half back when it came out.

Lube Me Up

Looked pretty but bored me to death, stopped playing it after a few hours. Also it felt weird how relatable he was, chilling with his wife etc, but then he would casually murder security guards at a casino etc. He would get the death penanlty lol. This didnt seem to bother me in say GTA, but seemed a huge problem in UC4 for me.

Satisfying conclusion but the story didn't seem nearly as ambitious. Not enough combat, either--which was a shame because they really nailed it this time. A few nitpicks here and there but mostly, when I think about it, it was a great experience.
