Forums - Gaming Discussion - IGN: God of War is a masterpiece and one of the most impressive games ever

Still not fully sold at this, is just doesnt seem as good as the other ones. Still thinking on getting a ps4 for this (and other games) maybe a good thanksgiving deal this year could make it happen

Mario odyssey and Zelda botw are better. Both got 97 on metacritic

and they are both 97 games by  PG 12 standards, if they got avaluated by the samme standarts of PG 18 games, they would barely hit 90 scores, especially zelda

I have never read so much bs in one sentence...

You feel threatened or something?

Yeah, I have to admit, Nintendo is putting out games. I'm primarily a PlayStation guy it shows maturity to stay classy.

Santa Monica studio is another Naughty Dog now.

For many of us, they've already been that. After God of War III, I knew they were a force to be reckoned with.

Pretty much how I was going to respond. I'd still put ND ahead in my own rankings table, but Sony Santa Monica, is up there.

Okay, the original comment was stupid, but this one is even dumber.

You know that thing when you uhhh...and then you...hmmm. But then you have to...umm, Yuh.

PS4 officially has 6 AAA exclusives sitting in the 90+ range on Metacritic. That’s amazing, considering how skeptical some people have been about this gen.

When a game has like 70 scores of 9 or 10, and like 4 x 8 scores... you know its gonna be good.

Its not a 8-10 score game, its a 9/10 score'd one.
Those 8 score are the oddball's out... not quite "clickbait" level but there not what its mostly scored as.

I've seen this a couple times this morning. Outliers are not necessarily "clickbait" or troll reviews. Not every one feels the same way about God of War or The Last of Us or Breath of the Wild or Super Mario Odyssey. Different opinions and perspectives are healthy, and ensure all demographics are represented. As long as a reviewer explains his or her perspective in a convincing, honest way, I think we should respect those differences of opinion, and not disregard them outright as "clickbait."

I agree completely.  It's getting a little annoying how people try to poison the well against anyone who doesn't fall into line.  If anything, the opposite has become the real problem, with "clickbait" being 10/10 scores having additional motivations.

I've said it before but I just don't trust review scores for marquee exclusives.  I'm not saying they aren't fantastic games but, seriously, people get way too excited over deviations of a few points.

Exactly...I was back to playing God of War 3 remastered the other day after completing Far Cry 5 on my PC rig.

This game is another example of what I like the most about Playstation, which is Sony´s continued commitment to single-player games.

I've been playing so many RPGs lately; I'm looking forward to playing an action game again.
