I'd rather them not shock us than reveal stuff that is more than three years out. I'm tired of games being revealed before they're even started.

While that is a fun idea, we can't forget what happened with their smash clone. Sony games aren't family friendly. As such these games tend to not have the same appeal as the Nintendo ones. The fans of most of those games aren't interested in family friendly games imo.

I don't think it had anything to do with that.  I think the problem is the game mechanic they chose.  Instead of having health bars, the round was won by the person who had the most Supers that successfully hit.  It just didn't feel like a real fighting game.  I guess they did it to differentiate themselves from Smash.  I have no idea why, though, as Smash isn't exactly original itself.  And health bars have been a staple of fighting games since the beginning of that genre.
