Yes, it would have. A lower price at launch is always a big advantage.

No it wouldn't, one of biggest PS4 advantage over XB1 was actually stronger hardware that meant higher resolution and better performance for lower and later for same price point.

Its pretty stupid to say definitively one way or the other how it would have done since its literally impossible to know.

But fact is that one of of biggest PS4 advantage over XB1 was actually stronger hardware that meant higher resolution and better performance in same games, for lower and later for same price point, and thats one of main reasons why people choosed PS4 over XB1 in first years.

This all comes down to Switch's holiday performance I think. With the right games or even a $299 + a free game bundle (even if it's just for black friday), Switch sure has a shot.

Why are you assuming Switch won't? Smash Bros releasing around that time already gives a boost in Switch's favor.

i dont believe it will push more consoles then 3d mario which  frankly was a sales monster.

Switch did 290k the month Odyssey came out, basically what it did this month with no games. Smash already gave a push to Switch in pre orders in March, at least 6 months from release with no info. It’s also historically bigger than 3D Mario. So I don’t know what you’re basing your expectations. You’ll be surprised.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

They are pretty similar

Smash Melee-7.07m vs Sunshine-6.31m

Smash Brawl-13.25m vs Galaxy-12.76m

Smash 3DS-9.16m vs 3D Land-11.77m

Smash Wii U-5.32m vs 3D World-5.75m

I imagine this will remain pretty similar on Switch.

SMH how much times are you gonna ignore the fact that February  is a much stronger month the october. ps4 gets huge releases in october yet ever FEB it sales better.

I'm not talking talking about 3d mario in general, i'm talking about SMO which is selling on another level then any 3d mario or smash, it sold 3 million in the US in 2 months, smash will not touch it, and will not be a bigger system system seller, but you are free to have your opinion.

If smash releases in sept, then you kno youll be wrong. Easy and simple. But god forbid if your wrong and smash releases and has an extra week or 2 and switch sales skyrocket past SMO oct npd then we wont stop hearing it for days/weeks!!

let's not forget  october is 4 weeks vs 5 weeks for september NPD, and mario only had 2 days of sales in october
