Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump Wants Something Done About Violent Video Games And Movies; Blames Them For School Shootings.

There are like atleast 20 differnt studies that prove no link between video games and violence.

But who wants to listen to scientific studies right?
Who "cares" if anything Trump says is backed up by any facts?

it must be the video games & movies, that kill people..... and not the guns, right?

Scientists debunked this whole video games => violence thingy, so many times already.

You take this stuff too personally and seriously. It just opinions being expressed on the net. Do yourself a favor and learn not to. You'll better enjoy conversations, debates and not hold a grudge over a disagreement.

I won't respond to the rest because it's nothing really substantive, but dude, you've GOT to stop making it sound like there's some complex grudge narrative that I'm holding on to. I literally just referenced that because it's hypocritical and ironic, not to bring up some old grudge. You should really take your own advice on this one, and I'm not saying this to one up you I mean it. I'm capable of referencing something I find hypocritical without it being a big looming grudge, jesus.

Also - please stop using those cringy emojis, thanks.

Well,  you keep making references to the past and won't let the water stay under the bridge. You admitted that you got seriously mad over it. "Gee, I wonder why he keeps thinking I hold a grudge...... yeah, man . You're giving him undue leeway.. hehe."

and no, I won't stop using emojis because I like 'em.  Deal with it. 🙈🙉🙊

I'd say that violent video games and movies can make someone get used to violent events like a shooting but I wouldn't go as far as saying they cause someone to actually harm or kill others.

I think there are studies that prove even that doesnt happend.
People can tell the differnce between playing a game and real life.

All that stuff is obviously fake news!

one of the very few things I agree with Trump, kids are exposed to material that is not for their age, and some are affected, not only from video games and movies but mostly random youtube/facebook videos...

I don't think it's a random coincidence that GTAV sales are still blooming, the most real-life violent video game is the best selling of all time, and kids seem to play it more than adults, from the people I know at least

they censored animation etc long ago, but that looks pretty pointless now, since video games are much more realistic, and violent videos are very accessible by kids

"Now the American Psychological Association (APA) has joined the debate, arguing in a research review that playing violent games is linked to aggression, but that there’s insufficient evidence to link the games to actual criminal violence."

For some reason the APA is saying there is a link between the two, but not useing any science to back it up.
Scientists that actually tried to study if there was a link, always find there isnt.

The political top are useing it as a scape goat, because they cant accept the fault lies with the guns, and mental health of people.
Health care and hard gun controll? thats not what Republicans are known for is it?

I ll be surprised if trump actually does anything with gun controll at all, hes all talk and no action.

I was at a Billiards tournament 2 days ago and there were a bunch a crusty old farts going on about this because a 14 y/o kid in my area killed himself playing Russian Roulette with his friends last week.

It's ridiculous. There are numerous studies that debunk this theory.

NRA donations must come with a good ol' rimjob.

Now you've enraged the Gamer community, Trump. Who don't you mess with?

Typical sjw tactic. Putting words into other people's mouths when they didn't actually say that. He didn't actually say he wanted to ban video games. He only brought up a rating system. Once he realizes there's a rating system, he'll just move on.

LOL you're the one putting  words into his mouth by claiming he said Trump wants to ban games.

I think he is right.

Me too, plus the guy who plays cod say he would never shoot one of his peers, so he would shoot people who are not his peer (basically anybody younger than him).
