Lol. They had records at opening weekend. Mcu records on tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. And looking at second best minimum second mcu weekend, if not surpass avengers. The fact we talk these kind of numbers for this movie is crazy. It will do 700m in US probably if it holds well after this week which will be third movie in history. WW it will be between 1.2 and 1.4 which is crazy as well

That puts Black Panther in range of Iron Man 3 and a contender for the Top Ten. You seem to be really confident in its performance.
Early word is the movie had a monstrous second Saturday in the US, $47.8 million. In freaking February.
Truly a box office phenomenon.
This is a real fine movie, I think it's one of the best comic book adaptation out there, since dark knight trilogy this is the best I have seen

Tracking shows that it's friday drop (62% projected) is inline with Jurassic World, The Avengers, and much better than TLJ's 76% drop. I'm not sure how you drew your conclusion, but evidence suggests you are wrong.
I saw the movie yesterday at my local theater and was surprised at how many people there were and when the movie was over and I was out of the auditorium there was a long line of people. I think it's second weekend will do really well.
