I see the usual suspects are busy again saying there are no stock issues lol.

Kimishima himself pretty much said that there are no stock issues anymore, and if there are, they're not serious enough to limit sales.

He said nothing of the sort for Europe.

"[...]customers in Japan and Europe in particular have had trouble purchasing the Switch."

That's not the case anymore. Just check some online retailers. Switch is available everywhere in Europe.

Its easily buyable here in the eu.

Didn't notice any stock issues here in the Netherlands. One of the biggest computer stores, Mediamarkt, always has Switch consoles in abundance.

@Bold So basically stock issues are non-existent from the consumer side ... (doubt Europe stock issues are true since it's been widely available at many retailers last year)

@OP The 40K baseline is indeed justified but not for what most reasons people think ...

yup the 40k baseline is what demand is, they should don't have enough units  for every store, but can be purchased if the customer really wants one with a little effort, as for europe, yea highly doubt this is true as well, from all accounts it's in stock every where. europe he must be talking about france only where it did post impressive numbers and was hard to find during the holidays.

40k baseline cant be what demand is because last few weeks sales were 40-50k and because fact is that Switch still has stock issues even situation has improved. Talking about Europe, Kimishima said that customers in Europe have had trouble purchasing the Switch, not that they curently have trouble.

It hasn't been out of stock in Norway since like ever, but I suppose that doesn't say much because we barely had stock issues for the SNES and NES Classics lol.

Actually I think it's pretty fair to say that in most places there isn't a stock issue, and even in Japan you can buy it in other stores. The Switch is doing great, no need to pretend like demand is being extremely limited by supply.

Hate to be "that guy" but the people in this thread that think there's serious stock issues(especially outside of Japan) literally just didn't read the last paragraph and didn't notice how much past tense was used in this article...

If you hate to be that guy, then don't be it. The final sentence of the article states that there are still stock issues, but that didn't stop the usual suspects (a.k.a. fatslob and quickrick) to claim that stock issues are non-existent despite specifically quoting the paragraph of the article that states there are still stock issues.

Don't worry, they will definitely believe this stock issues if Switch is from Sony LOL

you missed xl-klaudkil lol.

So it would seem that the recent Switch numbers in Japan are close to what we should expect from the Switch there except for when there are big new releases. Europe is interesting, I have noticed a bit of a surge in the Switch lately in Europe. Would be neat to have that region be more competitive akin to NA.

Nobody claimed stock issues are none existent. in japan stock is not optimal, like the rotw, but it's close to baseline considering kimishima  just said it sold out in some stores but you can find it in another store, which is basically what posters have been saying at resetera.  so people thinking that switch is gonna to 60k with better stock are most likely wrong because if demand was that high, it would much harder to find.
