Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gears for Breakfast: "A Hat in Time is not coming to the Switch"

Also, if it's alienating anyone, it's Switch owners, and if they're really not bringing the game to Switch, what sales are they losing?

I expect professionalism from anyone I'll consider giving my money to. And, just because someone finds their behavior uncouth doesn't mean they're a Switch owner or couldn't get the game on PC/Xbox One/PS4. I own a PS4 and was on the fence about the game. I won't be getting it now.

The tone portrayed by the person running the Twitter is passive-aggressive and unbecoming of a professional. This is the kind of petty behavior you'd expect from a dev's Twitter, but not the official Twitter account. A lot of people don't care. Some even applaud them. But, if you alienate anyone because of that, that's a potential sale you may never get back. Do that too many times, and your business will suffer.

See I'm finding this "it's a different account, so the difference matters in all the world" argument to being bogus. Kamiya acted like a totally unprofessional for his stature. Yes he was using a different account, but what the defenders seem to wilfully ignore (Very much so) is that Kamiya is the same person, personal account or company. He still represents himself as a person that has or does belong to a company/project, even if said project was finished years ago.

The way these devs acted was proven thanks to a boiling point that was reached, another issue that some people fail to notice. "but they could have just explained and then we wouldn't have been asking all the time", wouldn't it have been just as better to not spam all day and night on their Twitter feed?. Why on gods earth has it got to be a one way street with a particular userbase?.

I'm only now noticing this when it comes to the Ninty userbase, but I honestly fail to see why Kamiya is justified, yet these devs are not and how it's 10x worse doing wrong to the Ninty userbase than it is for others.

I disagree. If Platinum Games's official Twitter started saying stuff like Kamiya says, it would receive a lot more negative press than it does and they'd be portrayed as a bad company. I don't like what Kamiya says myself, but what he says on his personal Twitter account shouldn't reflect on the company he works for. I also disagree when someone is fired from a job for saying something unrelated to their work on their personal social media, but it's up to the company if they want that individual associated with their brand.

And you say it's only the Ninty userbase, but there have been some truly reprehensible comments directed toward Kamiya over Bayonetta 2 and now 3 not coming to PS4. The fact is there's people like that in every subsection of gaming, and really how many people are really locked to one system? I have a PS4 and Switch myself.

also why the big deal? they are indie..They probably don't have the resources to build a switch version and probably are just focusing on their next game

People don't seem to realise how small "they" are, the game was made by one person + volunteers. These aren't tweets from a big company and shouldn't be treated as such.

Yeah, I knew from the start that you would disagree, but it still doesn't change that he is the same person who has and does belong to a company/project. Just like someone running for a state can have their own personal account and still spew crap.

Yeah, others have mentioned it before, but now Ninty is doing it, so does it make it better for the other side to now rag on a dev, but not for the others?. Can I just note that just because one side does it doesn't make it alright for the other, but at the same time, we are all not made, nor represented as being equals to begin with.

There are people on Steam that make threads asking/demanding for Switch ports as well, to add to that.

You hadn't gotten the game, and now decided you will never get it because someone responed to constant harassment of "SWITCH NOW!!!" with comments like "no" and clapping emoticons?

Seems more like you are just making something up to get mad at someone for not putting a game on the switch.

You need to consider what it is like to be a small game developer being constantly harassed by self-entitled port beggars screaming "SWITCH NOW".

How terrible it must be for a small game developer to hear people wanting to buy your game.

It's a shame so many of you can't leave console wars out of this thread.

Would love to hear the reactions of some of you people if the next Persona, Crash Bandicoot or MGS was exclusive to the Switch or skipped only the Playstation 4 with no valid reason given as to why.

The comparisons to Kamiya make no sense at all. He has explained numerous times as to why Bayonetta 2 & 3 are exclusive to Nintendo platforms.

This developer is just a douche bag, but no surprise coming from the people that support white supremacists.

This attitude is exactly why the silly console wars are still a thing. Thanks for assuming, even though you assumed wrongly. I was actually waiting for a Steam sale before picking up the game, but you keep your agenda if it makes you feel better.

It's fine if you disagree. My whole point isn't that it's okay for one side to do it or for the others to do. It's that if anyone does agree, that's bad for the business for that dev. There are people who won't buy Kamiya's games because of how he behaves, and I fully understand their stance. I've seen enough people who didn't like how this dev handled it to show a similar thing can easily happen here. Everyone has their own limit on this sort of thing, and for some it's a lot less lenient than yours might be.

Port begging is disgusting.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Wow, that's dev was being a douche.

With the clapping emotes too.....fuck off.

I was on the fence about getting this for Xbox, but its a hard pass from me now.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I'm not sure what some people are mad about, they don't want to make it for switch, probably because it would be a headache to port. as long as there not insulting anyone, i see no reason for people being so angry they have to throw personal insults at the devs, like really?
