Yeah, if they go with EA they likely lose, FIFA, NFL NBA, and Star Wars license over night.

microsoft have to reach out to pc developers for games because no one really cares for microsoft! that’s the end all! ms are also to lazy to even bother with new exclusives it’s pathetic, even the xbox and pc only dead rising 4 made ifs way to ps4. microsoft is losing everything and this xbox one x is becoming a flop since sony is still outselling them with ease.

The Show still has the MLB license even though it's exclusively locked behind one platform.

The NBA would not care lol and I doubt that the NFL will either, the Star Wars license can be negotiated with money because Disney is not in the business of Video Games anymore. As far as FIFA the license might go away but that wouldn't stop the EA FIFA team from making another Soccer game.

Take Two has like a 13~ billion dollar market cap, Sony's is like $60 billion tops? Can Sony really afford to throw that kind of moolah around willy nilly in response to competitive pressure?

Microsoft has 130~ billion in it's war chest to spend on whatever it wants. And has a market cap of $700~ billion which could reach $1 trillion by 2021.

Microsoft could literally buy Sony, Take Two and EA.

Being outsold by your competition doesn't conflate to being a "flop".

If Microsoft buys EA, all their exclusive problems go away. Not only will they have Frostbite at their disposal, but they get access to some amazing franchises like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Battlefield, Mirrors Edge, The Sims, Need for Speed, StarWars, Medal of Honor, Command and Conquer, Titanfall and more.
That's actually allot of incentive to buy an Xbox over a Playstation don't you think? Well. That is if they were Xbox exclusive, they won't be even if Microsoft does buy EA.
EA can justify games with large budgets, set pieces with great assets because they sell on every platform, thus justifying their development budgets, that tends to go away when you make them exclusive.

If Microsoft wants to do a goodwill for their next console they should buy EA and shut them down. I would become a Microsoft fanboy just because of that haha.

More accurately, they’d lose EXCLUSIVE licensing to NFL and FIFA. They could still make Madden NFL and FIFA games, they just wouldn’t be the only ones who could.

I don’t think it would matter much. Those franchises sell on name alone.
