Also, Leia flying in space was definitely one of the stupidest shit I've ever seen in cinema, it's right up there with that scene in Battle of the Five Armies (another awful film) where Legolas jumps on falling blocks denying like 23 laws of physics at the same time. This is the kind of scene that, when you watch a crappy movie, you will inevitably center around, because it's that one stupidest moment that will always come to mind before anything else. The "Leia has the force because of her bloodline" excuse is terrible, because we've had 4 and a half movies with her without her ever showing even a single sign of using it (no, someone else telling her she can do it doesn't count), and as I said, it's something that was not only never explained, but also never even acknowledged by the movie. It's completely unbelievable, you'd think at least one person in the Star Wars universe would have said "what the fuck?!" the same way everyone in the crowd did, but nope, no acknowledgement at all. |
You mostly seem like a balanced guy, but in this entire paragraph, you just seem like any other person claiming that their opinion is the correct one. Leia has featured in 4 and a half films, but it's been 30 years (in universe) since ROTJ, and none of the films have been about Leia. Especially in the new trilogy, Leia is a supporting character. Of course there will be things revealed about her that won't be explained as much in depth. Who on earth knows what she was up to between ROTJ and now. And this was a matter of life and death. I can find stories from real life of people doing things they have never ever trained to do in life or death situations. As for other people reacting to it, what characters saw it? What was their situation? Would that be the time for them to stop, sit down and consider how Leia was able to do that? Or were they perhaps in dissarray from being under attack by the First Order, and from their bridge being blown up?
