Forums - Gaming Discussion - Valve removes Japanese game from steam because its audience are Pedophiles, according to them

Well, "fond of children" definitely doesn't give a good impression

No, "fond of children" gives a perfectly reasonable impression when taken literally.  It's only when you read it ironically that something menacing comes out it.  A common phrase in English is "I'm not fond of children", but people never use that to mean "I deny being a pedophile", just "I find children more annoying than adorable".  Someone who is clearly foreign to English is less likely to write something intended to be read in that way.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than a little racist.  It would be like some guy saying "I love cats!" and people think he loves to eat cats because he's from China or whatever.

I agree.

I do love children. I love my son, I love my nieces and nephews. I like to see pretty youngsters from 3 to 10 and their cute traces.

Same with being fond. When children aren't being crazy bulldozers I'm fond of them.

Probably it's western stupidity that think love is directly sexual.

We also should jail all teachers, nurses, pediatrics and others that threat child and love them, they are all clearly rapists...

It's Valve's website, what they say goes. Pedophilia should not be tolerated in any way. Honestly Valve should have had it to where they track this games purchases and report them to authorities. That being said, depends on how much you want controlled and regulated or not.

What a nice moralistic statement, quite in contrast with what you said in that other thread about Israel/Palestine, where your solution is to murder every last man woman and child to solve the conflict. But hey don't let that stuff you said over there be a smudge on your profound wisdom.

As an excerpt here is your answer to someone else who seems to have the same mind set as you in that other thread:

You see... being SFW with the authority on moral grounds allow you to decide what is acceptable or not, got it?

It's not ridiculous. It's perfectly normal for a 17 year old boy with his 17 year old girlfriend to become a pedophile at 12am on his birthday.

Dear gawd. When I was 18 my girlfriend was 16. Should I turn myself in or kill me right away?

You should be terminated.

The characters in this game are 9-12 years old.

If that's the case, then yeah... it's pretty sick.

Except there is 0 sexual content.

Steam is by far my favourite platform to game on. However there is too much of this trash on Steam, the library needs a major clean out. As for videogames causing issues for real life, its a shame of an excuse to remove games because they believe it affects lives.

World Gone Mad..?

Seriously this is a damn videogame when will the western market ever grow up? If the Japanese market is mature enough to handle these kind of games or stories why can't the American?

American puritanism, that's what...

I knew Valve couldn't be trusted. That's why I have to rig my Beth games to work alone and will never contribute to Steam and Valve...

So you hate little girls? What's wrong with you? What have they ever done to you?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

That's a very misleading thread title. Also, I'm not sure I agree with this particular game being removed, because I'm not sure there's any inappropriate content. But you have to admit that there are some Japanese games that sexualize girls (and boys) that are wwwaaayyy too young.

P.s. Comparing games with pedophilia in them to shooters is god damn insane.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

If you think sexualisation and fetishising someone requires literal sex or complete nudity you're being naive. Given the subject topic, the developers sure have gone out of the way to make their skirts as short as possible

I mean come on guys lol, its pretty transparent the gaze this game is made from. Just read the character descriptions. One likes manipulating adults to her will and uses this presumably on the teacher, another loves breaking the school dresscode. Lets not act blind to context.

And nothing they're doing is illegal but Valve wants no part of it because its obviously shady. Has anyone actually watched the trailer?

Unless you go there and read the rest of OP and see that there is nothing relating to sex on this love.

If you think someone playing a game that have nudity of "naked child pixel" is a pedophile then you should also think someone playing a shooter is a mass shoter maniac right?

You mean as if on your regular day there wouldn't be girls dressed like this and that the game already received a classification that it doesn't have sexual content (not talking about nudity or sex scenes only).

First of all its you who sees it that way, i dont see anything sexual about that. And why hasnt valve contacted the devolopers back and asked him if he could remove some of the art or make changes? They obviously didnt, valve is the one whos shady here to me.
