Ok well if they do that then I feel FFXV should get re-rated once all the DLC are out and the story becomes more complete.

I guess that's good for RL fans, but i never really cared for this game, it was free for PS4 and fun for a bit but didnt last long.

They better do Recore next.

Proud to be a Californian.

Rocket League has grown, and its a great port, and its perfectly portable.....

I think it's good when reviewers do that. Gran Turismo will probably be another case of a game being way better a few months down the line. Best personal example is Bomberman R for the Switch which is almost a different game now compared to launch: They fixed the controls, patched the game from 30 to 60fps, added camera control in story mode and added lots of stages, characters and even new modes - but it's still 62 on metacritic.

I think revisiting games like this is fine in theory, but it does mean that they have to then do so for practically any game that has gone through significant changes since release. It'll be interesting if this becomes a more widely used practice at IGN.

The old system of "fire and forget" reviews for games became outdated when game publishing ceased to be "fire and forget." (And not updating a once broken game evaluation post-launch is deceptive to consumers and petty towards the publisher.) Updating reviews with each and every little update to a game is unfeasible, but occasional revisits aren't, especially in 'dry seasons' and with plenty of staff on-hand.

Only makes sense that as a game is updated, the review also be updated.

DLC shouldn't affect the score of the base game almost at all. Otherwise the game should also be considered more expensive for review purposes, and scored accordingly.

Nice, it'll be sitting at 106 by the end of 2019 then!

This is great. Scores should be updated to better match how much the game has improved after release.

I remember splatoon1 going from 7.9 to 8.6, and most likely Splatoon 2 (along with other games) will get a re-review too

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
