Hey everybody,

haven't had the time to play some more with the new patch...what are your experiences with the changes, especially to the online mode...(like penalties etc).?! Do they make a difference?!

Having briefly tried the new patch today in one race, I'm cautiously optimistic with the changes to GT Sport mode races.

It now also shows the lag each player has. Not that it helps, but it's a good warning to stay clear from high ping racers.

When you or the person hitting you gets a penalty it briefly displays the reason. Too briefly and too small as you don't have time to pay attention to that but at least the effort to make it more transparent is there. I only got hit once so way to early to notice any improvements.

The result screen now shows your finish position, how many places you moved up (or down) and what I expect is your starting position based on your best lap time. Good for me as I don't really enjoy qualifying and rather race from the back climbing up and this gives me some recognition for that play style.

I played the FIA test for the first time yesterday... unfortunatelly I'm still on the low bracket...

Some shitheads spoiled like 2 or 3 of my decent timelaps with crashing me on the corners...

Worse offender was on the 1h endurance that I got AI ramming and spinning me ON THE STRAIGHTS... took like 5h to clear the race (won with only 3s advantage)... and I'm still sad they erased all our best times.

I saw, they improved the stability of car handling (made it easier) and for that erased all the single player times :(

I was wrong about the result screen, mistranslation I guess. It says ^ 9 places, you are now position 9. Great race. Except I finished in 7th with the fastest lap time. So it just means I gained 9 places, not what my starting position could have been or anything else. And with finishing in 7th my DR ranking still doesn't move nor do you get any extra xp or money for gaining places. Qualifying is pretty much mandatory if you want to move up or get more than an insulting amount of money/xp.

Spend the cash from single player well, multiplayer takes forever to make money. (There is a cheat people use to let auto drive generate cash over night if you really need that car. It also gives xp so this whole always online to protect integrity bullshit ship has sailed already)

So when you enter on Sony threads and piss on those games you aren't shitting on almost every IP??? Yeah right.

Don't pretend... you yourself admitted several times to like very very very few Sony games, and you don't ever miss the chance to talk smack about the ones you don't like... interesting that you say you only enter the threads of the games you have interest... would that be the interest to attack those games?

Does Sony only make a few IP’s? Because I don’t talk about many Sony games here. So if you’re claiming I shit on almost every sony IP, you’re saying Sony only has a handful of them. That, or you’re full of crap. Which one is it? I say good things about plenty of Sony IPs. Motorstorm, Last of Us, SOCOM, GT, God of War, etc. Which Sony IP have I “shit on” here aside from maybe The Order? A game that I got the platinum on, by the way :)

You’re letting your console warrior mentality confuse you. Legitimate complaints is not shitting on a game. Hope that helps. And be happy, because of GT fans like me voicing our opinions both online and with our wallets, good things are coming :)

But again, feel free to be upset about irrelevant things and derail.

Alright you two (and everyone else for that matter), let's keep this car on the road. No more abruptly cutting each other off and bumping fenders. Consider this me turning on the full driving line to assist in keeping things on track. Continue off-track and you're going to be disqualified.

ok, speeding down to avoid the time penalty,

I played the beta and now the full only after the patch... I will say that it shows all instances you gain and lose CE and SE, so I was happy.

On the driving, I just run the S6-8 challenge on offline, the car seemed easier to control... I was doing faster laps and a lot more consistent than the day before.

they said they done that mostly for street car... and they shouldn't had erased the ones that doesn't have to do with those type of car... also if they made the game easier then the older times were still valid.

Yes mine shows how many positions I gained...having shit qualifying you can earn a lot of positions kkk. But usually deal with crazier guys.

well... rubberband and drive oval circuit is easy to set.

I do not remember you ever being very positive about Sony games. And never once seen you say a game from Sony is better or that you prefer it over something made by MS. It's always, it's ok/good but... Focusing more on the negative than the positive. Which is something you don't do nearly as much, if at all, with XBox exclusive games.

It could have happened once during a blue moon, but you do come across as being unfair and having double standard against Sony and in favor of XBox titles. Hope that helps.

EDIT: Sorry. Had left VGC opened that page, before leaving. After posting this here comment, I see that some posts were made after it, which weren't there at the time. I will edit this out if mods ask me to.

Yep, and if you start last you can't lose :) lol The crazier guys are actually easier to pass, they leave plenty openings. Can't be trusted to drive side by side though. Yet the higher level they are the more aggressive as well, i guess that's the way to get ahead. Too bad penalties don't stand for the whole race as many people would not end up in first if penalties didn't bleed off in corners.

Anyway the main reason for not qualifying is time, I'm multitasking, jump in for the race to get the daily gift car and that's it until the extra content hits. At least starting last saves the embarrassment from forgetting to turn the controller back on :/ Today's daily race auto start is pretty wonky on Dragontrail. I started 2 before last and the people in front of me stepped on the brakes in autodrive, while I got launched into them by it, the hell. Start with a penalty. It happens more often that there's a big speed difference between cars at the start, lag I guess. It really sucks when you start in pole and the people behind you get launched at a much higher speed than you, 4th before the first corner... Better when you start 2nd with the magic launch boost :) Last race I started last and got launched 3 places up that way before crossing the start line. In other races I've seen a huge gap in the middle of the field before the start, traffic jam in the autodrive part.

You could have just sent me another angry Discord message, no need to air it publicly here :)

my bad just noticed the mod message. Please edit my post if you wish.

This is good support from PD. GTS is the best car sim ever, simply because it nails down the sense of driving so well.

Nice to see they are adding a proper campaign mode, but it still requires online to save your progress which is lame.

Are you saying that you simply have to be online to save the game , or are you required to subscribe to Plus?

Yes the penalties are very easy to shave off if made on the start...and yes erratic is easy to pass, but unless you put distance fast they can ram your back in the next corner (I've done Interlagos and Maggiore always looking for the time against the 2nd place to avoid any risk of him ramming me).

On the start up, on maggiore for some reason the guys in front didn't hit gas and I just gushed out in front of then. And I may be wrong but they also ghosted out.

I believe to save only online is enough. The box says most content need to be online, but doesn't say you need PS+ to play the game.

Online is required, but not Plus.
