That's a lot of happy children out there playing Pokemon.

I was expecting BW2 rather than the 3rd game that only had one game

If they had ported these games to Switch and released at the same time on both platforms, it could have even doubled these numbers (that are already great).

Why would you expect a sequel when they said it was an alternate story..? That's the little phrase they use to mean "3rd version". The only sequels are G/S and B2/W2. Both times they made it apparent that it was a sequel. Now, for the Switch Pokemon game, I do think there's a high chance that will get a sequel. 

In terms of changes from 3rd versions though, there's the difference between a lot and barely any in that spectrum: Barely any would be Yellow Version, and a lot would be Emerald Version/Platinum. In that spectrum it falls in the middle. Not as many as E/Pt, but way more than Yellow or Crystal.

Nah, will easy sell 10 million lifetime. It won't be as big as BW2 in Japan, but in the west the 5th gen was very weak. So overall worldwide sales will be better.

Not bad at all.
Even an off year for Pokemon is the envy of most other publishers / developers.
