Because his conduct reflects on the institution he works for.

Seems easy enough to understand, though what's the joke?

The guy made a southern accent mocking his black friend's souther accent. The black friend said he was not being racist and that he mocks his English accent all the time.

People get fired like this all the time.  2 friends could be making a joke at work together, one is white and one is black.  Both of them are alright about what is said whether it has racial meaning or not.  Someone walks by and hear the jokes and get offended.  Next thing you know one of the 2 or both get fired.  In corporate America, you have to be very careful about what you say especially when it comes to jokes.  They now have these video sessions on harassment on the subject.  It sucks but you have to read the employee manual which no one ever does.

I realize that, but it goes along with me stating that  was  possibly rhetoric if they saw grassroots movements as a threat.

Probably not because the Soviets brought stability and security to the region after the war and any indivdiuals that were perceived as a threat could be liquidated.

Yeah, but once stability and security were met, the post-war economy of the Soviet Union stagnated, with no major advances made towards realizing the goal of communism (despite Khrushchev's "communism in 20 years" statement). Actually, now I am curious, do you believe that they truly saw 20 years as a realistic goal, or do you believe that was rhetoric/purposefully exaggerated?

Racist joke in 2017? Seriously, why? I can't with some people.

There were no joke... one friend asked the other in southern accent "do you want some grit?".  The girl was mos likely doing false reporting. And you see the college ended up paying for an agreement basically because they knew it would be bad PR.

Except in this case there wasn't even a joke.

And the criticism is against the employeer behavior on it.

Thats a policy issue.  In other words, if someone makes a complaint, the due process would be to validate if the complaint is correct.  If someone makes a false complaint, then that person should be fired.  Just like making a false fire alarm.

And that is the problem and criticism... there wasn't due process. The guy was immediately fired.

So, the black guy can make fun of his British accent and not be labeled racist, but if his white British friend makes fun of his southern accent, the British guy is labeled a racist.Hmmm... Talk about flawed logic right there. I don't think either of them is racist btw, friends make these kinds of jokes all time.

Then the Soviet Union was not opposed to capitalism either since it's economy was run by state capitalist enterprises for the majority of it's history.

That is the slidesloope that will lead to apologetics that claim "comunism was never attempted, so you can't say it gone wrong"

Well true commuism is pretty much unoptainable.  The end goal of the Soviet Union was to eventually transform towards true commuism but it collapesed long before even comming close and in the end capitalism won.

Yes, but is it news.  In other words, people get wrongful termination all the time.  Its up to the person who got fired to go through the process.  In some states, a company can fire you for anything, there needs be no reason.  This guy could have been easily setup and depending on the state it really doesn't matter.  The thing is, whether the company did a due process or not really depends on the state and the company policy within their employee handbook.  In the end, not sure if this is news or even new.

First I see unopotainable and thought it was my lack of vocabulary, but the meaning seemed close to unobtainable, is that it?

But yes you are right that "real comunism" is unatainable, but even the though of "forcing everyone to be equal" is also wrong... but the phrase in itself is that it's wrong to forcibly take something from someone and give another just that everyone have the same.

No it isn't new... but the comment and spin is valid... if someone complained in the school that a teacher was mocking the heritage of Red necks, KKK, Confederates and etc, the person would probably be told "to fuck off". But in this case just a miss report with ill intetions warranted a summary termination.

Yes companies doesn't need to give a reason in Brazil as well (but several cases this type of termination gets invalidated), but when you do give a reason and it seems like any type of prosecution than you may have an issue with the termination.

And even thought companies can fire without "reason" there is always a reason, unless the boss is completely obtuse no one fire an employee just for pleasure because that will have an impact on the business... so any inteligent firing have to weight pros and cons, impacts before decided.
