"however it blew up in his face this week in a big way because he made a callous, calculated decision to not openly condemn those groups"

except that he did and the news media who you are parroting concede that he did, their gripe with trump is that trump also simultaneously called out the violent acts being commited by protestors on the other side

which any sensible person should do

Anyone who thinks Trump handled that well is out to lunch. Even Fox News went in on him for it and Bannondorf even come out and clearly called white supremasists clowns.

Trump is on an island with that "both sides" bull shit, because he lacks any moral compass he badly misjudged the mood of the country. I think he really thinks of things only like a reality TV star would ... in ratings terms. He thinks that's a block of ratings that he can't do without and cynically made a decision to play the "all sides" card not having any insight into how badly that would back fire on him.

look i'll be frank with you, i don't care for silly emotional babble

the point i'm making is that he did in fact call out the "right" leaning supporters for the violent acts that they commited, so it would be best for you to stop saying that this is not the case because its wrong

if you want to say that him calling out both sides for their violent actions at the same time is wrong, then do that, but don't just outright tell lies about the situation

You sound like one of those people who just need the villian so badly that you'll make up one. Yes, supremacists are actual villians but trump is not one of them. This is my last reply to you. You're dead set on this. So there's no point in debating this stuff with ya when you can't even entertain the idea that you could be wrong.

Trump is who we thought he was.

In fact, I believe matter of factly that Trump is actually worse than racists in many ways.

What's worse?

A racist is something who largely through their own idiocy/ignorance/low I.Q./fear hates people of other races. OK, we agree probably that this is bad.

Trump is someone who coddles/uses racists and inflames racial tensions for his own political gain

Of the two, I would actually say the second is actually more despicable.

Trump is on tape by the way refusing to condemn KKK/Neo-Nazis/David Duke before by claiming he didn't know what those groups were about, which is a lie because he is on tape several years prior and he knows full well in that interview who David Duke is. So there is no "debate" here really. He has used this tactic in the past and he does it for transparent political gain.

Seriously, don't try to push racials/identity based tensions on trump when that's been brewing for a long time. If anyone is to blame for stirring it into something far worse is the democrats/progressives because they frame every issue/talking point around race, sex, sexual orientation, creed and belief. You can't do that sort of shit without worsening the divide between people.

I guess i'm not the only who thinks this just getting started.

"It feels like violence is coming," Sasse wrote at the end of a long Facebook post Friday evening, titled "The next Charlottesville." "I'm not sure if this moment is like the summer of '67 or not. But it might be. Before that violence strikes again, it's up to us to reaffirm that exceptional American Creed again today, with our neighbors, and in our kids' hearts."

"What will happen next? I doubt that Donald Trump will be able to calm and comfort the nation in that moment," Sasse said. "He (and lots of others) will probably tell an awful combination of partial truths and outright falsehoods. On top of the trust deficits that are already baked so deeply in, unity will be very hard to come by."

That's still irrelevant to my point. My point is there were no black hate/supremacist groups during the Obama presidency trying to "fufill his promises". Even Trump didn't deny it when David Duke tweeted directly to him.

I didn't say they were trying to fullfil his promises or some other silly shit. They liked him and supported because he was black and liberal. What black supremacist wouldn't like that. My point was that trump is not a white supremacist nor can he control who likes him.

You do realize that white supremacists are trying to normalize and greatly strengthen their cause by lumping themselves with anything they can on the right, right? They're trying to co-op things that have nothing to do with them. They are trying to trick people who are not knowledgable of politics and what group is what. It doesn't help when the idiotic portion of the left tries calling everyone on the right a nazi and/or a white supremacist when they are not. So stop trying to lump shit in together.

i dont want to involve myself into this discussion because im on thin ice and probably wouldnt be able to get away with posting what you just wrote here, but i wanted to quote it and say i agree 100% with what you said.

Nobody calling for assault car bans with fuel tank and horsepower limits? Especially those high capacity assault vans like Barcelona.

Ah yes, this classic line of reasoning.

It's like the alcoholic husband who gets drunk and beats his wife and then turns around and blames her for driving him to drink and beat her because she makes the "mistake" of talking about his drinking. "If you didn't bother me about my drinking, maybe I wouldn't get drunk and have to beat you!".

If a person has shitty racist beliefs, no one "makes" them that way, they make a choice to adopt those beliefs, and no amount of "talking about it" makes them that way. That's on them and they can own it even if they have to deny it to themselves.

Also that moment you realize the so-called president would probably fail 3rd grade English

Except if a person is actually not a racist, all of your hyperbole falls flat on it's ass.

Trump never said that he doesn't know what KKK or Neo nazis stand for, where on earth did you get that from? He just explained that he needed some time before he had a fairly good picture of what went on in Charlottesville, explaining why his first condemnation statement was kept so general.

This enormous witch hunt and smear campaign by media and even Republican politicians to try to bring down Trump by blaming him for the opinions of a few hundred extreme right wingers and the heinous act of one single right wing murderer, it's so utterly cheap and dishonest for a supposedly democratic society in 2017. It's so unworthy of a nation that actually was very civil only a few decades ago.

I feel so bad living in this perverse and corrupt culture. It sickens me. I am worried about the future because it just keeps getting worse.
