Let's not take that chance. Fatty's too heartless and stupid to hold back.

Coerce and use china to deal with him. Sanction him til his people overthrow or til he calms down. I don't care which. He's bluffing though.

People keep falling back on the assumption that Kim Jung Un is of sound mind and body and at the very least has his own self preservation in mind. But can we really say that with certainty? The NK regime doesn't actually know where some of these missiles they've been firing will land. One of them came extremely close to hitting Japan the other day.

North Korean manchild sends threats. American manchild returns threats. North Korean manchild possibly following through.

How did we get in this situation?

What is more vital for China and Russia, being on good side of probably the most powerful country in the world, or defending North Korea? If given the chance, these two countries would side with the US, seeing as how there's not currently a real hate pack against the US (like Iran), and they have more opportunity for economic growth in the US than they ever would have in North Korea.

As for this whole situation, the only thing that concerns me is the capabilities they have now. They are further along than they ever have been before, but the US is likely increasing the missle defense progam by a ton. and if they tried to do anything they would be blown off the face of this planet. As for the people bashing Trump for the comments he made, realize the situation at hand and get over your bias already. What did you want him to do, sit on his hands and ignore it like Obama?

See what I just highlighted.

Why would they defend them if:

1. North Korea strikes first even though the US did nothing?

2. America provides economic benefits to both China and Russia that North Korea could only dream of?

China and Russia are starting to see the writing on the wall, it wouldn't have been a 15-0 vote if they didn't. North Korea's regime is on the ropes. It would honestly not shock me if China start a coup de tat and killed Un while installing a puppet government. I see this happening way before any sort of war (let alone WW3) break out.

Because Russia hates the West (includes both the US and Canada), and secretly so does China.

That's a stretch. Even if they did hate us that still doesn't acknowledge the first two points I made. Russia and China would be more willing to talk to America to try and work out trade deals and alliances than work anything out with North Korea.

The US has the upper ground in this scenario, simply because it's the US and we have more to offer that would benefit both Russia and China. Do you seriously think China hates our guts when we're their number 1 trade partner? Without America China would not be as successful as they are currently. And as for Russia, they look out for Russia (like any country should). The reason they constantly give America chances is because they know they're better off on America's good side. North Korea is a stepping stone.

How many rubles were you given to say that?

None, it's common sense.

I am actually proud that instead of running again to the Chinese begging for them to put pressure on NK which in turn they make demands of us we stated that we're holding the line on the requirement that any discussions require the dismantling of their nuclear program. Trump went to the Chinese and they did what they usually do, they made a demand (regarding our stance on their currency manipulation) and in turn they put pressure on Kim.

The Chinese thought that Trump was going to do what every other president has done and continue going to the well asking for assistance while basically paying the Chinese off by taking no direct stance on their illegal economic practices. Obviously Trump is not a typical President and like any legitimate business owner he and Rex quickly realized that the Chinese were taking advantage of this situation and failing to completely comply with their promised pressure.

I have no evidence to support this hope I have however I hope that Kim realizes that the United States, the UK and basically the majority of the world are not only standing together on putting pressure on him but that his recent test have resulted in multiple nations preparing to enforce an escalation to their nuclear weapon program.

Nato Article 5 would be triggered and we would see the NK toppled and the north occupied by South Korea. President Trump knows this and he knows the last thing Russia or China want is a military occupation by Nato that much closer to them or in China's case next freaking door. He's forcing the issue to the point where Russia and China must act to stop what they would see as a strategic nightmare scenario of the potential of increasing the American/Nato presence in Asia by the only means necessary either convincing Kim to entirely dismantle his weapon program or even by force if they have to.

I am not even sure if you're trolling with some of the stuff you say...

Russia and China don't hate the US or the West. They don't trust us. Yes it's the pot calling the kettle black because as much as they complain we interject ourselves into other countries affairs to serve ourself interest they do the exact same thing; that and not to mention the gross violation of human rights that are done against their citizens and millions of other human beings who find themselves in dictatorship contries like North Korea and Syria.

The President is forcing the issue with Kim not to force Kim to strike, hopefully he's not that stupid, but rather to force China and Russia to step up to the plate in the most aggressive way possible to stop Kim from continuing his weapons program for no other reason that stopping the very possible reality of a toppled North Korea that's ocuppied by Nato and American troops. They do not want more Americans on mainland Asia and the potential to have direct access to both Russia and China from an almost entirely American controlled Sea of Japan.

North Korea sees the nukes as their only assurance to keep their regime, so they're not going to stop and there's pretty much no sanction that will deter them at this point. They would be well advised though to probably turn down the trash talk, but then again Trump would probably be well advised to stop tweeting like a 12-year-old. Neither of those things are likely to stop.

Nothing can be said with certainty but I'm gonna assume he is because people like him don't live long if they're an idiot or crazy. If one of those missiles manage to hit anything, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. There's no point jumping the gun on this.

Why? Fuck the mentality that china and russia are our enemies. Just make it siding with the world is more profitable for them than to keep dealing with NK, they'll go along with it.

How can you be sure Russia and China will see reason? Remember the USSR days? Or more recently Russia letting Ukraine rebels shoot MH17 down?

If you make it more of a business deal with them then yes. They already are to some extent. China and Russia are more agreeable with trump on sanctions on NK. If we try to bully them like we've always done then they probably won't do shit to help us.
