Developer 4J Studios has come through with major, new patch 1.06, boosting Minecraft Switch Edition from 1280x720 to 1920x1080 while docked to a TV. What you get is a jump in image quality that pays off hugly for long-distance views of a world, and in 4 layer split-screen. But does the upgrade come with any unwanted side-effects? Wow little did I know that frame rate would actually improve when boosted to 1080p on Switch, impressive considering framerate was seen to be higher than the PS4 version at 720p on Switch at points, although we should note the view distance is lower than PS4. But great improvement at the end of the day zero compromises made to get this happening, just shows the power of optimization.
