Forums - Gaming Discussion - Any Nintendo fans with ill will for Sony?

We've all heard the story of the Nintendo and Sony dispute in the 90's, and of course how Sony went on to take most of the marketshare and Nintendo's dominance away from them. Are there any Nintendo fans that feel a little bitter about that? Not hate or anything (although you might?) but I was always curious about it.

I like both Nintendo and Playstation, one for their first party and the other for the overall library. So I'm glad Sony are here and are basically keeping the AAA gaming industry afloat. What about you?

The only Nintendo fans that are bitter at Sony are the ones that work for Nintendo.

Everyone else doesn't care. As it was 20 years ago.

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Do Not Click here or else I will call on the eye of shinning justice on you.

I own a PS4, so no.

No, not really. Maybe because the majority of my attention of gaming has been on the handheld side, which pretty much is the side of the gaming industry Nintendo's been basically keeping afloat, as well as holding market dominance since the Gameboy.

There are plenty of Nintendo fans that don't like Sony, and you will find most of those people had N64's and were pissed off when they kept hearing about how well the PS1 was doing.

I generally buy all hardware I don't have any ill will currently.

I was upset with sony for the ps3 launch, I got over it.
Was upset with microsoft for the xbox one launch, phil healed it

Nintendo pissed me off with the expensive cardridges and lack of third party support, the switch is a console that could be interesting regardless of this lack, so good job nintendo for adjusting.

If you're talking specifically about the situation of the 1990s ... no, not really. Nintendo kinda boned Sony there if I'm being honest. Hard to be mad at Sony.

I am upset at Nintendo for being stupid and basically pissing away the console market though. There were multiple things they could have done in the 90s to stomp out the Playstation or just have let Sony release the stupid SNES CD-ROM, let it flop, and move on with things. Nintendo always used to release weird add-ons primarily for the Japanese market anyway (Famicom Disk Drive, Super Famicom Satelview BSX ... what's one more thing).

I know a couple at my workplace. Lol one low key owns a PS4 though. I got the hater to admit it.

Why would I care? I just want Nintendo to be successful I don't care about whether or not they're the market leader

Yeah Nintendo as a company is annoying as fuck. They made a lot of bad desicions, they just happen to have mad good developers working for them.
