Damn. That's very impressive.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

And sales look to be accelerateing.... this is the most selling Q1 they have had yet, and likely to be the peak year for them. I suspect 199$ will have a good effect on sales this holiday too.

I have it in my Signature, that I think this year is a 18,5m+ one.

I think all of this releasing exclusives in the first half of the year is doing Sony a lot of good. They already know the likes of Call Of Duty, Destiny, Battlefront, and now FIFA will sell their consoles over the holidays, and even then we might come to find that Gran Turismo is still a sales beast and sell consoles in the fall. So releasing their heavy hitting exclusives in the spring will ensure high sales in the slowest half of the year.

Apparently, everything we saw at Sony's E3 is coming to the PS4 in the first half of 2018, so all that plus Red Dead 2, it's impressive stuff.

Ya know you can use the official numbers from Sony and Microsoft instead of VGChartz estimates.

Unit Shipments after 14 quarters-

PS3: 35.7m
360: 30.2m
Combined: 65.9m

PS4: 60.0m

Wow the PS4 really is something else when it comes to sales!

Hey Zhuge how much do you think the PS4 will sell (total) in its life time? you seem to know your stuff when it comes to sales and data so i was wondering whats your take on this.

I think it'll reach the 100m mark through the initiatives that we know of.

Price drops, push into new / growing markets, new game software, online growth, playlink etc...

To give a final LTD number for PS4 is a lot harder because it depends a lot on when 'next gen' starts and also how Sony handle the transition.

Besides, what's more important is how engaged users are on PS4 both in regards to time and spend. PS4 is already the market leader when it comes to hardware. Now it's time to see how software and network sales continue to grow.

But, but, but CONSOLES ARE DYING!

Well, to be fair, the PS3 sold like ass for a few years and the 360 had supply constraints. Still impressive though.
