Forums - Gaming Discussion - In your list of gaming priorities, how high are graphics on the list?

This is highly dependent on the genre. Like RPG's can get away with absolutely awful graphics as long as the story is top notch. On the other hand, simulation sports games better have state of the art graphics or I will be angered.

There is no one answer for me.

Is impossible to make any sense with this rankings as it totally depends on the game in question, but in general I would say graphics are on the middle, neither in my top priorities neither in my bottom, but again it depends, I loved VVVVVVV and that thing looks like it comes from an Atari 2600... also I give way more importance to the artstyle than anything else when it comes to graphics, that's why to me BoTW has better graphics than 99% of games in more powerful systems.

1. Good Multiplayer
2. Enjoyable gameplay
3. Conformable controls
4. Graphics
5. Music
6.Resolution
7. Story
8. Framerate
9. Post game content
10. Short loading screens

1. Made for VR
2. VR mode included
3. potential to get VR dlc
4. Must look appealing

No clue where to rate graphics as I just as much enjoy Polybius as HZD. Good graphics are a bonus, I didn't buy a projector to play Minecraft after all. Yet BotW at 900p is more than enough to fill 92" of screen space.

Im surprised you value story and game world design so low.

*edited it again after thinking some more on it.

My fellow RPG fan has my preferences pretty much spot on.

These are the only things I base my purchases on:

1. Premise
2. Gameplay
3. Story

Graphics isn't even a consideration

I don't really care that much about graphics in their technical aspect but I care about the art direction (for example, I prefer the style of something like Ni no Kuni over something like Gears of War). Also, I'm glad I'm not one of those people who think anything below 60 fps is unplayable.

Let's see... I'll go with this.

1. Gameplay
2. Story
3. Music
4. Graphics

One thing I do not understand is when someone says that they value game-play highly but don't care about graphics at all. That doesn't make much sense to me. Game-play advancement is tied closely to graphical advancement.

Personally, I wouldn't say graphics aren't important are for me, but that they don't have to be up to modern standards to be enjoyed. I'm fine with any visual style, as long as it is appealing to the eye.
