Sweet, sweet, 60.
I expect Galaxy levels of consistency, Nintendo!

Drops to 57? Literally unplayable

Probably will be corrected before launch.

Probably. I wonder if the docked resolution will increase too. 900p would be neat

Not really surprised that it's at 720p. As long as they make it a solid 60fps, I will be happy in handheld mode.

its 720p when docked.

In handheld mode it will probably be like 540p.

Not really. The game is 4 months from release. Both Splatoon and Arms gained resolution bumps to 1080p (they were 720p originally). Odyssey will probably be 720p undocked and 900p docked (like Zelda).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Honestly I'm fine with 720p, it never stopped games like Captain Toad Treasure Tracker looking great, and it doesn't stop Odyssey either.

60fps, textures, shaders, effects, etc all matter more to me than the relatively minor difference between 720p and 1080p.

Was obvious from the footage. Wonder if it'll get a resolution bump like ARMS and Splatwoon, and if it'll go up to 900p or 1080p if it does.

On the other hand, I'm impressed at how well the citizens blended in at half the FPS and even 2D in the distance. Maybe I'm just really blind but I never noticed that during the Treehouse gameplay.

I was disappointed I watched the video after he pointed out the fading people. I'd legitimately never noticed in all the footage I've watched, but now I always notice lol

Pretty good, Splatoon 2 was originally 720p but eventually is 1080 so I'm hopeful

Even if it remains as 720, I wouldn't mind as long as the framerate is great

60 fps on platformers feels so good.

Donkey Kong Returns is 60 fps on Wii and 30 fps on 3ds. Can't explain how much I prefer the Wii version

Exactly, that additional fluidity and responsiveness really improves the experience when it comes to platformers.

Don't believe that for a second, if anything it will be 900p when docked and 720p handheld

Keep in mind that Minecraft is both 720p docked and undocked so it's not odd to have a game run at that resolution in either mode depending on where the issues are happening.

If you watch the digital foundry video as well, all of the issues with framerate they said were based on asset streaming, the speed of the memory doesn't change with the clock change from docked/undocked so the streaming issue will be the same for both modes, meaning it could well be 720p in both modes since the GPU isn't the thing which is kicking up and causing the dips in the footage we're looking at here.

Keep in mind that Minecraft is 3rd party game and that even Minecraft devs said that game could easily run at higher resolution than 720p in docked mode. I dont see that Nintendo would run their game in same resolution in handheld and home console mode, when fact is that currently only their Switch game that isn't 1080p is Zelda BotW while they dont have not single 720p game.

They said it looks like frame rate issues (dips to 57 only) are based on data streaming and that in final game we could see that GPU could eventually support slightly higher resolution.

It seems like Nintendo is working first on handheld mode and later just bump resolution for docked mode. In other words, this E3 demo is probably portable mode that currently runs same on docked mode also, we already saw same thing with ARMS and Splatoon2.

Apparently, this was build from 8. May.

I am hoping they fix the 2d character models in Donk City. I honestly hated that technique in Halo 5. Game looks beautiful and looking forward to playing it.
