Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Were any third party games at E3 confirmed to be native 4K on XBOX?

did anyone really feel the difference between checkerboard 4k and native 4k during the gameplay?
Digital Foundry had to freeze a scene, and perform a extreme zoom to show the difference...
Its known that chekerboard 4k is much better than upscaling, so theyre fine. both ps4 pro and xbox one x.

I doubt most people feel the difference in 4K and 1080p during gameplay.

HDR though, thats always noticeable

I dont think there would be threads like this at all, if it wasnt for Xbox Marketing throwing shade "ps4pro isnt a competitor" "it doenst do real 4k" "its not true 4k" "not native".

And then there where xbox fans, everyime a PS4pro game came out, if it managed to be 2160p (4k) they would go "but thats checkerboarded, not native".

Now Xbox One X is releaseing (5months time) and it appears alot of games will be 4k via checkerboarding too on their machine.

The tune changes.

Your right about them haveing to basically zoom in to show it at all.

It proves my point, deminishing returns on just boosting resolution up.

The differnce between 900p (xbox one S) vs 1080p (ps4) is bigger, than 1800p vs 2160p or 2160 checkerboarded vs without.

Yep, it will only get higher details over PS4 Pro, which isn't a big deal since it's a MMO, it doesn't really look amazing in the first place.

No option for 1440p 60 fps pretty much confirms CPU concerns.

SMITE & Paladins are also both Native 4k on the PS4pro.

Anthem used checkerboard as well. Not sure about Metro Exodus.

Metro was not even shown runing on a 1x, it was an 1x comparable pc. So highly doubfull.

Those 2 things make the M$ E3 conference even more shittier.   Checkboard for real? What was all about NATIVE 4K???  and that the most impressive looking game on their conference was not running on the XOX?

M$ needs to step up their game for REAL!

The promise of next gen console gaming on Xbox one and PS4 was 1080p @ 60fps. Both consoles failed to achieve this and Xbox one would often be running at slightly lower resolution.

Well the promise for this current gen upgrade is 4k @ 60 Fps, both PS4 Pro and Xbox one X will probably fall short but this time around Xbox one X will perform better.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-why-cant-destiny-run-at-60fps-on-ps4-pro

I don't play game on PC, I just want the best high console gaming experience.

Nobody is saying Xbox One X won't have an edge over PS4 Pro.

What we are saying is many games won't be native 4K, even if they are running in higher resolution than PS4 Pro.

Destiny 2 is also 30 fps on Xbox One X, the only difference will be resolution and maybe better textures (if they can be bothered).

It's worth mentioning PS4 was cheaper while also being more powerful, then several months later Xbox matched the price, but it was still weaker hardware for the same price.

Now to get higher resolution but still not True 4K you will have to pay $100 extra over PS4 Pro.

$100 extra give you:

True 4K (this might be a lie you will get better 4K)
Better performance
Faster load time
4k Blu-ray player
Xbox Game pass and EA Access. (EA access 40+ & Game pass is 100+ so, $14.99/month over 140+ games) <-- This is great for new comers.
Access to largest gaming library running with improved performance. (Xbox 360 & XBox games) <-- This is not for everyone but I love this feature.

Heres a list of games that support 4K native. The XDX isnt complete yet so we dont know the final resolution for games until they come out and DF does a review of how they run.

$100 extra give you:

True 4K (this might be a lie you will get better 4K) *(only true for some games, so far most arnt)
Better performance *(most games run capped fps, locked to 30, so not nessarily true)
Faster load time *(we dont know, dont have any games to messure one vs the other yet)
4k Blu-ray player *(true)
Xbox Game pass and EA Access. (EA access 40+ & Game pass is 100+ so, $14.99/month over 140+ games) <-- This is great for new comers.

EA access is meh imo.

Access to largest gaming library?  PS4 has like 1750 games to the XB1 1350. ?

No that's a list of 4K, not True 4K. Look at the first game on that list. Anthem.

Yeah i said that but its too soon to determine what games will be Native 4K since the devs kits arent complete yet. But here is a game i found on Gaf that runs native 4K.

Shadow of War is native 4K.
