Digital Foundry had to freeze a scene, and perform a extreme zoom to show the difference... Its known that chekerboard 4k is much better than upscaling, so theyre fine. both ps4 pro and xbox one x. |
I dont think there would be threads like this at all, if it wasnt for Xbox Marketing throwing shade "ps4pro isnt a competitor" "it doenst do real 4k" "its not true 4k" "not native".
And then there where xbox fans, everyime a PS4pro game came out, if it managed to be 2160p (4k) they would go "but thats checkerboarded, not native".
Now Xbox One X is releaseing (5months time) and it appears alot of games will be 4k via checkerboarding too on their machine.
The tune changes.
Your right about them haveing to basically zoom in to show it at all.
It proves my point, deminishing returns on just boosting resolution up.
The differnce between 900p (xbox one S) vs 1080p (ps4) is bigger, than 1800p vs 2160p or 2160 checkerboarded vs without.
