The promise of next gen console gaming on Xbox one and PS4 was 1080p @ 60fps. Both consoles failed to achieve this and Xbox one would often be running at slightly lower resolution.

Well the promise for this current gen upgrade is 4k @ 60 Fps, both PS4 Pro and Xbox one X will probably fall short but this time around Xbox one X will perform better.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2017-why-cant-destiny-run-at-60fps-on-ps4-pro

I don't play game on PC, I just want the best high console gaming experience.

Nobody is saying Xbox One X won't have an edge over PS4 Pro.

What we are saying is many games won't be native 4K, even if they are running in higher resolution than PS4 Pro.

Destiny 2 is also 30 fps on Xbox One X, the only difference will be resolution and maybe better textures (if they can be bothered).

It's worth mentioning PS4 was cheaper while also being more powerful, then several months later Xbox matched the price, but it was still weaker hardware for the same price.

Now to get higher resolution but still not True 4K you will have to pay $100 extra over PS4 Pro.

$100 extra give you:

True 4K (this might be a lie you will get better 4K)
Better performance
Faster load time
4k Blu-ray player
Xbox Game pass and EA Access. (EA access 40+ & Game pass is 100+ so, $14.99/month over 140+ games) <-- This is great for new comers.
Access to largest gaming library running with improved performance. (Xbox 360 & XBox games) <-- This is not for everyone but I love this feature.
