Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Xenoblade 2 Not Delayed

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1388657

Not confirmed, apparently the source is Game Spot so it may well be wrong. If true seems like a short delay. Perhaps Dragon Quest XI or Super Smash Deluxe would be moved into December (though that's a lot of fighting games in one year for Nintendo).

Well, if it's true, it will be the least surprising delay possibly ever!

Nobody in their right mind thought this game was coming out in 2017.

It's only been slightly over two years since Monolith finished XCX.

Even if by some miracle it came out this year in Japan, the rest of the world would've had to wait until 2018.

Sure, monolith soft. Sure you can make an open world RPG in less than 2 years.

To be fair, Monolith Soft has two separate teams, and the team working on Xenoblade 2 was supposedly working on it at the same time XCX was still in development.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

The expanded substantially during X development.  Current theory is that they formed a second team internally to begin work on XC2

I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed. A huge game like a Xenoblade game releasing the same year it was announced seems... unlikely, unless it was near completion, and I kinda doubt that was the case. Maybe it could still release this year.

Ah, that's right I remember reading something about them expanding. Even if it is a few months wait that's still impressive.

Their Kyoto studio seems to pretty much only help out with other Nintendo projects though, like Pikmin 3, Animal Crossing, Zelda, etc.

Was it ever confirmed that work on XB2 started before XCX wrapped?

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it were true.
