Developing a self-learning AI machine.

Awesome idea. nothing could go wrong. 15 50.00%

Terrible idea, it will destroy us all. 15 50.00%

Gonna be interesting, but don't worry, those intelligent robots will have an even harder time against stupid humans than intelligent humans. Anti-intellectualism reigns and if the most intelligent humans cannot break through that robots will even less.

Lol. Oh you =D

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I feel we have a responsibility to do so, even if it is to be our undoing.

It is a bad idea. And it's been said before, humans will not go extinct through nature or any other natural "acts of god" but rather by their own hands.

When I think about what Elon said, it makes me think about the BORG in Star Trek. Imagine these kids all excited about augmentation and brain implants, and then, somehow, the AI takes over their bodies.

Horizon, the matrix, terminator etc etc. I love the way humans have dreamt up their extinction long before its made into reality. Something very romantic about that.

I only wonder what kind of philosophical excuses the future AI civilisation will make up for themselves to feel better about being created by vastly inferior creatures.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Machine learning in its current state has results very much in the control of the programmer. You tell it to optimize a certain task, there is no function that would make it do otherwise.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

Having a robot friend like Bender would be so sweet though.

will they go skynet or matrix? which future do you humans prefer?
