Forums - Politics Discussion - A transit cop lost host job thanks to a fare-skipping illegal alien

This is a disgrace that the cop was sacked for doing his job. A cop should be able to use any force he deems reasonable to enforce the law.

Um... no, no no no.

What a crazy place the US must be, people getting tased over a bus fare lol

Ikr, I'm sitting here from the UK were our police officers sooner use wheelie bins, to deal against people with a Machete rather than a tazer or gun.

I find breaking the law because you fled from a shitty, filthy, poverty stricken country filled with famine and crime to come to a place like the US to be akin to riding your bike on a sidewalk. It's just a fucking joke. If they want to work, if they want a better life for themselves or their family, let them in... let them all in. And if our government won't let them in, I hope they keep on sneaking in anyway. Fuck it.

Wow wtf. People have no right to a better life - nothing in nature does. You work with what you have. These people should only be deported after being locked  in max security away from their families for 6 months, then maybe theyd stop breaking the law.

And that is why wages have been suppressed for many jobs in the USA.  Take working in a meat plant.  It used to be a decent job providing about 20 dollars a hour.  Flood in a bunch of illegals and the average wage is now ~10 dollars a hour.  Illegal immigrants supress wages.

Most Americans don't even want those jobs. They complain about them taking their jobs away when they themselves don't even want it.

They dont want them because they pay like shit. Increase the wages to $30/hour and I guarantee theyll want it.

Well that's pretty stupid. Bet they wish they had a taser in that situation! Needlessly risking their lives because they haven't been given the proper tools to do their jobs...

You mean to do their jobs badly? Police officers jobs are to protect people and their lives, that goes both ways. Firearms are the last resort and it's better for everybody that way. They have access to tazers and guns, they're just competent enough to not solve every problem with the pull of a trigger as their first reaction to everything.

While I'd agree guns and tasers should be last resort, I think a madman swinging a machete at you justfies using that last resort...

They got the guy didn't they, they are professionals, they are the ones who've been trained, they were the one's  in the situation. They thought they could handle and arrest the guy without killing him, and look they did.

These police officers are people, they didn't come into to the job because they want or like to kill people, while I'm 100% sure if they had to kill someone as they had no other choice they would, it's just that their is more than one solution to every problem sometimes, and the easiest solution might not be the best one.

OK the perp didn't pay his transit fare, then kick him out the train. Deporting is not his job.

It is his job to contact the proper autorhities and quite possibly detain him on the spot if possible or at least get his information. Is it a police officers job to enter a burning building when fire workers are not available? No, but it is expected.

I think any human being would try to save someone from a burning building.. Do they have to? No, but it's expected.

Want to know why he got fired? its in the video.

Does he have the authority to act on behalf of another agency? No. He even says so in the video.

Yeah holy shit.

It is so weird how the average everyday gaming users become so hardline all of the sudden. And I'm not even leftist at all.

Oh my word the things people have written in this thread. This is just some cynical inhumane thinking here.
