Someone's bitter.

To be fair, he has a right to be, lol. It's unrealistic to expect all Nintendo fans who got burned on the Wii U to all be lovey-dovey now even if Switch is a better product.

True.

But to hope that people who bought the Switch get fucked over is a little overboard don't you think?

Indeed, but also Nintendo supported that system more than any other company in their situation would have. Also the Wii U still got every thing you would expect from a Nintendo home console; a 3D Mario, 3D Zelda, 2D Mario (+Maker), Donkey Kong Country, Pikmin, Mario Kart, Pokemon Spin off, Kirby, Yoshi, Smash Bros and more.

Yeah I can understand why people like Magnus are upset and they are entitled to feel that way because Nintendo certainly underdelivered with the Wii U, that said for me personally it wasn't that big of a deal because outside of the shovelware/casualware stuff that I really didn't give a crap about, the two systems aren't *that* far off.

Wii "Gotta Play" Nintendo Wii Games:

Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Metroid Prime 3

Xenoblade

Punch-Out!

Zelda: TP

Zelda: SS

Mario Kart Wii

New Super Mario Bros. U

Donkey Kong Country Returns

Super Smash Brawl

Kirby’s Epic Yarn

Animal Crossing: City Folk

 Fire Emblem

Super Paper Mario

Best third party games: Monster Hunter Tri, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, RE4, GoldenEye, No More Heroes

Wii U "Gotta Play" Nintendo Games:

NSMBU + NSMLU

Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Mario Kart 8

Super Mario 3D World

Bayonetta 1/2

Splatoon

Pikmin 3

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Wonderful 101

Captain Toad

Super Smash Bros. U

Xenoblade X

Super Mario Maker

Yarn Yoshi

Pokken Fighters

Zelda: Wind Waker HD

Paper Mario: Color Splash

Best third party games: COD: Black Ops 2, Zombi U, Rayman Legends, Deus Ex, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

To me honestly it's fairly close, the Wii U is missing Metroid primarily, but I was getting kinda tired of the Prime series anyway and for me Splatoon is now one of my top 4 Nintendo IP. Too bad Miyamoto decided to totally fuck up Star Fox Zero though. Third party support for both beyond 6-7 titles wasn't that great, Wii had a megaton of average to shit software on it.

I'm kinda disappointed you didn't mention TMS #FE for Wii U. Yea it didn't release with a lot of fanfare or press, but it appears to be a solid collab game. Then you have Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Red Steel 2, and Sin and Punishment 2 on Wii.

S&P2 is a fair add, The Last Story was decent, Pandora's Tower though got some what mediocre reviews as I recall. It's still pretty darn close when you consider Wii U basically had 2-2 1/2 fewer years of lifecycle.

To be honest I think both are fairly flawed consoles that leave quite a bit to be desired. I'm glad the entire Wii + Wii U era is over and done with.

I hope everyone who buys the Switch gets screwed on by Nintendo just like they screwed Wii U owners. I spent hard-earned money on my Wii U to earn the privilege of playing Nintendo games released on that console, they should have respected my purchase instead of screwing their customers to earn more money, and destroy their reputation and their legacy and turn into a bad company.

I put a decent amount of money in the Wii U. I understand why you'd be upset, but you're simply being bitter.

I'd rather see the Wii U take the damage and the Switch not suffer from the Wii U's miserable life. They have a good legacy; we were just unfortunate to see them overestimate the potential of a Gamecube 2.0

Told you the launch games were fine.

But, but it's basically just Zelda .

OT: I hope Nintendo can ride this new wave of success. Go, go Mario.

But when is the last time a system launched with such an acclaimed title that you can literally sink hundreds of hours into? I'm going with never. BotW is all it needed. Sure some of the older Mario launch games were super acclaimed, but you couldn't really spend 200 hours with them. Same with something like Twilight Princess for the Wii.

I think it was time to move on from the Wii era. I love the Wii and I'm glad I have a Wii U, but seeing the Switch as it is now is great for Nintendo as long as they continue their momentum and third parties at least ATTEMPT to support the console with better and consistent efforts overtime. I know there was decent support around launch for the Wii U, but less Mass Effect 3-only and more actually porting the whole trilogy, for example. Of course it's hard to expect that from third parties on Nintendo consoles but the MHXX port, DQX and XI (once that's shown), Blaster Master Zero, Bomberman, and even USFII show some promise with hopefully more to come. Bayo 3? Beyond Good and Evil 2? Who knows.

Switch will be better than Wii and Wii U, both are overrated.
