As silly as that looks, that's still really cool. Also, I didn't know Target has been around for that long, and when did Target become people's choice for buying Ninendo goods...? It's definitely one of my last places to stop at for games...

Target is underrated by the gaming community. They always have accessories and games available when they come out. The shopping experience is definitely better than that of gamestop or walmart.

Also, it's funny how Target has better advertisements than the Wii u.

I wouldn't think of Target first if I were on the lookout to buy games, but I would say their overall shopping experience is nicer than that of GameStop and especially Walmart.

Anyhow, those bollards look... odd, but the shopping karts are quite cool.

Yeah, that is true. The Target game sections always look tidy and well organized compared to Gamestop. They always seem a but messy when it comes to their stores.

I've bought games at Target before.  I wouldn't call it my "go to".  I have found that they have very good Black Friday sales, enough so that I won't bother driving to Best Buy or Wal-Mart (which are both further away to boot) this coming holiday.  Also, I'd never actually seen/heard of Target prior to one opening near me in the early 2000's.  Caldor and Bradlee's were the closest competitors to K-Mart in my area before they went backrupt in the late 90's and then the Target's and Wal-marts began to crop up everywhere.

I've bought some game goods at Target, but since they were rather far from my area, I rarely went to them myself. Best Buy and Gamestop are a lot closer to me, so I usually go to either of those places.

I don't mean to say Target is bad, but just not one I commonly hear as a place people go to buy games at. They're farther than me compared to other stores, so I rarely go to Target to buy games. I suppose Target getting Rosalina as an exclusive amiibo adds some truth to that comment about Target being an important partner for Nintendo.

I like the store lay-out a lot more than Wal-Mart, or other large general stores. The prices aren't as great, but I'll pay extra to not feel like I'm shopping in a freaking warehouse. Free shipping online to Red Card holders is also great.

I think they're less common outside where we live though, since the corporate HQ is in the Twin Cities.

Target has a history of gaming promos. Back when RockBand 4 came out Target had an 'Holiday' exclusive Red Band in a Box set for the regular price. However by the next summer they were still selling them, but for 30% off. Overstocked with those huge boxes.

you know those shopping karts are going to be turning up on ebay for massively inflated prices!!! going to cost almost 5dollars to get one from there if the NES mini is anything to go by!

Seriously though, this is awesome to see Nintendo no longer ashamed of their work and actively pushing it to the consumer again.

Even though I practically never go there in my adult years, Target will always have a special place in my heart. Want to know why? Because as a kid, it was the best place to PLAY NEW GAEMZ!!!!

The Target in my city would always have demo units of Genesis, SNES, GB, Game Gear, Saturn, PS, N64, Dreamcast and PS2 games to play as I was growing up (it probably still does, I just aged out of dying to go to Target to try them). It was the first place I played Mario 64, GoldenEye, StarFox 64, Mischief Makers, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time,  Banjo Kazooie, Sonic Advance and countless others.

I remember being in Target seeing trailers for Pokemon R&B and the anime and thinking that I NEED that game for some reason... and boy was it right! When my 11-year-old self was on the fence for a PS or an N64, I remembered all of the fun and memories I had on the aforementioned games and cemented myself as a lifelong Nintendo fan right there.

Dang, now I want to go to Target and see if they still have any demo units of consoles out now and stand there stairing up at a screen for half an hour like a grown ass kid. ~_~

Caught a glance of my local Target as I drove by it and sure enough they've been MK8 Deluxified! I definitely need to hit them up as surely this advertising campaign means they'll get a sizeable Switch shipment. Their weekly add also implies as much. Oh and I spoke too soon about there being no deal, for buying MK8D at Target gets you a MK8D themed rubiks cube. Meh, but better than nothing I suppose.
