Alcohol makes it a lot easier though. :p

I'm honestly scared of what I'd do if I were drunk. I like having control over my mind.

I've never been drunk either, and I'm kinda scared of it too.

I also consider myself to be a bit to young to get really drunk, although most people of my age get drunk quite frequently.

The trick to it just understanding your own limits and yourself. The first time, just get a little buzzed with some friends (or by yourself) to see how you act while a bit intoxicated. It's not poison so don't it like it is nor is it a race to a finish line. Just pace yourself when you drink. Just keep a good buzz so you don't get sick and you have a good time while not embarrassing yourself.

From what I seen, people with good impulse control can handle being drunk fairly easy while behaving themselves most of the time after some practice. If someone has bad impulse control, they'll likely to act a fool while drunk or take it too far in some way. The trick to it just understanding your own limits and yourself.

One guy I was an aquanstance with never really got drunk or tipsy before. He would always just sip his drinks. He did that for years. Never really experienced being tipsy. The first time I saw him actually get drunk, he went  so overboard, he right into the river. I think he took a few shots and it hit him hard. Next thing ya know, he started to drink hard liquors and hit on every girl telling them that he loved them.... After a bit of that, he threw up all over himself and passed out. He swore off drinking for awhile. lol. He never tried to learn how to control himself while intoxicated or how to pace himself so that is why it happened.

A friend of mine just can't control himself in a party situation. He always gets so drunk that he passes out or throws up. I think that he likes to show off or something. When it's just a few people, he's pretty good about handling his booze.

My point is that pacing yourself (maintain a nice  buzz) is the key to drinking.

You're probably right. I don't think I would be too bad when I get drunk, but I would probably say stupid things and make lame jokes.

Anyways, I still find myself to young to get drunk, even though I'm old enough for it by law and it's quite usual here for 17 year olds to get drunk.

But why do people even mention water in this thread? I mean, water is  there to satisfy our thirst, alcoholic beverages are either there for the taste (I mean real taste with which our taste buds have some work with) or in other cases to get in a different mood.

I don't see people who sip on a glas of water enjoying it that much. Not even those who say it's their favourite beverage. They may not like other beverage as much as water but they still drink water only because they have to and not because they think it is time to enjoy some glas of water once a day or something^^

I prefer water as well as my main beverage but this has nothing to do with drinking a glas of whisky or whatever else.

I love water! It's the only drink that I can chug down. I love it's refreshing appeal and aura, and I love the feeling of being rehydrated!

Well, that's all nice and I also like it for these reasons but I think people wouldn't drink water if the body wouldn't need it because the desire for it wouldn't be there anymore but they would still drink stuff like whisky or wine just for the taste and  some would still drink alcohol to get drunk.

That's why I will never understand the "I prefer water over alcohol" statements.

Beer : Modelo Especial

White Tequila and Vodka

There is no better choice in the world.

Criss, I love your logic.  I think your the sanest poster in this thread.  I agree with your reasoning completely.

This thread is titled "Your favorite Alcohol" not  "Your favorite beverage"  and yet certain people have hijacked this thread to be about their favorite beverage, namely water.   Yeah, I like water like everyone else on planet Earth.  It's what I desire when I wake up after a night of drinking or any other night for Christsakes !!!!

In fact, as I recall, Kitty Dukakis got all fucked up drinking Isopropyl Alcohol in the 80s...haha...do your research kiddies...

My aunt and uncle's neighbour in Michigan is such a drink, that he does drink that when he can't find anything else!
