After your first paragraph, I was expecting you to state 100M or more. What's the matter? 2.5M in 1 month, possibility to capture the handheld market (80M last generation), great titles yet to be launched...Just 40M in 4 years?

I don't feel my prediction is an absurd anymore.

2020 is in 3 years and your reply doesn't really make sense in expecting people to say 100m especially in 3 years. I expect NS to hit 80m at the end of it's life being the only portable as Nintendo will keep it active for at least 6-7 years like the 3DS.

From 4th March 2017 to 31st December 2020 how many months do you count? Are you sure it's about 3 years?

So, you believe NS will sell 40M in the first 4 years and another 40M in the 2 or 3 subsequent years? You're aware that no console in history sold in its first 4 years as much as in the remaining 2 or 3 years, right?

Prediction made in 14/01/2014 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 70M      WiiU: 25M

Prediction made in 01/04/2016 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 100M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 18M

Prediction made in 15/04/2017 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 90M      XOne: 40M      WiiU: 15M      Switch: 20M

Prediction made in 24/03/2018 for 31/12/2020:      PS4: 110M      XOne: 50M      WiiU: 14M      Switch: 65M

Xbox 360 did.

You're right. My bad.

Well, that means Wyrdness is expecting NS to do the same. That's very interesting. I'll wait and see.

I don't think Switch in its entirety is one system anyway, it will become an ecosystem of hardware IMO, so I mean traditional console cycle "rules" that we have (ie: not being able to sell as much in year 4/5/6 as 1/2/3) simply may not apply.

Because Nvidia is basically doing all the hardware chip R&D for Nintendo and it's a mobile part that basically has a new iteration of chip every 18 months, IMO Nintendo has options available to themselves that simply weren't possible with systems like Wii or Wii U, where the chip was so custom that making a better version of it would've required a fat R&D cost that would've been all on Nintendo's shoulders to pay. Nvidia's Tegra X2/X3/etc. are chips that would exist even without the Switch.

But you're arguing. Its a poor choice because it makes poor use of the hardware and SFIV is much better.

Worst of all, its $40. It was $15 when it released on PS360.

The pricing is a bad decision, I agree. But the game itself still goes well with other Switch games. I still see no reason why Street Fighter needs to show the hardware's capabilitys when other games don't. This will not be the game to show to your friends and brag how technically brilliant this is, instead you show it and invite them to get their ass kicked.

But SFIV is the better game, it looks great, Capcom could push 1080p/60 fps, and asses can get kicked.

Essentially, Capcom chose the game with less sales potential and selling it at a ridiculous price.

No console has been a hybrid Switch is not strictly a console, it caters to two markets the console and portable markets and one of those markets Switch will be the only device for consumers to buy. Vita and 3DS consumers have to go somewhere for traditional portable gaming and right now they total around 80m plus (around 90m by the end of this year), that's a large pool of potential buyers Nintendo has no one else fighting them for and will make up the bulk of Switch owners, any console market consumers will be a bonus but in the end I see a around 80m users for switch.

In my inner circle we are 4 friends with the Switch (and another one will buy it this summer). We all bought the Zelda BotW and we all will buy the new Mario Kart game. I don't care this is a port or whatever. I also enjoyed "The Last of Us" and "God of War 3" more that many PS4 games.

I am sure Switch will be OK till September.

Any games..
Big impact MK8 Apr/May
Little impact USF2 and Minecraft in May
Modest impact to surprise impact Arms in June
Splatoon 2 big impact July/August

Zelda Update should be there somewhere in July/August too

But we need a surprise at E3 for September/October

Switch!!!

It's basically the MK8 month as it is going to release at april 28th.

On top of that, isn't Minecraft supposed to be big?

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Fire Emblem Warriors is likely in September
