I don't think Switch in its entirety is one system anyway, it will become an ecosystem of hardware IMO, so I mean traditional console cycle "rules" that we have (ie: not being able to sell as much in year 4/5/6 as 1/2/3) simply may not apply.

Because Nvidia is basically doing all the hardware chip R&D for Nintendo and it's a mobile part that basically has a new iteration of chip every 18 months, IMO Nintendo has options available to themselves that simply weren't possible with systems like Wii or Wii U, where the chip was so custom that making a better version of it would've required a fat R&D cost that would've been all on Nintendo's shoulders to pay. Nvidia's Tegra X2/X3/etc. are chips that would exist even without the Switch.
