Forums - Gaming Discussion - Star Wars Battlefront 2 Reveal Coming April 15

Learned my lesson from the first game. Not going to invest any money until EA proves they can deliver a game with a decent balanced MP and SP content. Also stop dividing the community by charging £40-50 for season passes, i waited a year and a half for it to go down in price (because EA hates giving you a decent discount unless the game is doing poorly), and even by then the community had dwindled and moved onto other shooters and better games in general.

Also won't be touching it if it's going to be a repeat of the last game and also lacking a proepr server browser. Dedicated servers are a must and I'd also love for private servers, no charging people more to rent your serves on PC (seriously BF1 PC rent servers cost more, which is bs).

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

All I want is a space battle like Rogue One and I will buy it

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Battfront was one of my favourite shooters ever.

I platinumed the game and got every single dlc trophy. Except for one which is get to the max rank of 100. I'm currently 97 so I'll get there.

Loved the dlc so I'll get the season pass except this time on sale. The third expansion hadn't even released last time and they'd already put it half price. So I'll wait this time.

I'd recommend getting this on ps4. If you want better performance get it on pro. It will look majestic but most importantly the vast majority of the community will be on Playstation. Pc servers were pretty empty for the vanilla content and the dlc populations died out very quickly. So if you plan on playing this long after release get it on ps4.

Currently less then 2000 playing on pc with 10,000 on ps4. 5 times as active.

So, there's going to be COD, Battlefront 2 and Destiny 2 in the same year?

Sounds good to me.

A WW2 shooter, and 2 completely different scifi shooters.

Going to be a great season for shooter fans.

Though I do wonder if Sony keeps marketting rights for BF2... I feel like MS would have made a big play for it with Scorpio coming out.

Well at this point if MS doesn't go for BF2 then the AC game is pretty much all that's left this fall for marketing dollars. They have the Mordor game but that's in Aug and won't be a big draw anyways. Plus it's getting the Pro treatment as well so the Scorpio difference is not really going to offset the userbase difference as the 1st game sold better on PS4.

So we could be looking at CoD, BF2, Destiny 2 and RDR2 all with exclusive marketing on PS4.

I'll agree that Battlefront didn't ship with a ton of features, but I will admit that I spent an embarassing amount of time playing Walker Assault, easily more than any other shooter this gen besides Destiny. So yeah, I'm in.

I agree that MS might have gone all out in getting the marketing to this game, as it seems that Sony holds marketing (and more importantly, bundling) rights to basically every other major 3rd-party game this year. It's Star Wars, though, and Sony has been pushing PS4 as the Star Wars console this gen, plus they have a better relationship with Disney than MS does.

I really hope they finally do the OG Battlefront games justice here. 2015's game competed with Call of Duty on a sales level so they have absolutely no reason to be lazy with the content, outsource a shit ton of maps and art work if they need to. This is one of the few games where I think that approach may be ideal.

Skipped the last game but this will be day one for me if they provide a great SP experience and Jam packed multiplayer content and PvP local multiplayer.

If it doesn't have a single player mode, there's no way I can consider it. I tried a few times to get into MMO FPS games (Titanfall & Destiny) but its just not my thing.

Read Dead Redemption 2, Battlefront 2 & Destiny 2 should make up for the lackluster performance of major 3rd party titles from last year........unless these games underperform as well.

Destiny 2?

I thought the first destiny was supposed to be a 10 year game. Why is there a sequel.

Let's hope they learned from the mistakes with Battlefield.

Wasn't that just about the 500m budget being for a 10 year franchise or something? Franchise definitely leaves open the possibility for (a lot of) sequels in that time.

I assumed seuels would just all be DLC/expansions. You know like every other MMO
