It is good muslims at large are against this but the reality is the man was invited and spoke to 100s of people who sat there and listened.

Because the wholesale labeling of a group of 1.7 billion as equitable to the few thousand members of ISIS is problematic on multiple fronts.

1. The criticism of Islam is a massive recruiting tool.  You create your own enemy.

2. It damages our relationships with foreign nations in the fight against ISIS.

3. It's childish, asisine and hypocritical.

By the way, if that Imam sermon drew police complaints...who complained?  You insinuate that the congregation simply listened and accepted his speach and yet, the police were called in.  Obviously, many in the congregation didn't take kindly to the Imam's hate speach. 

Critism of a religion is childish and hypocritical? So when people criticize my religion (christianity), it's totally ok right? But muslims need to be babyed, and given special treatment? Come on man! Other than in Ireland, tell me where else? The protestant reform was 500 years ago, and the days of conflict between the orthodox and catholics ended after the 3rd crusade (which was 900 years ago).

Whats going on in the middle east today is religious war betweem the sunni and shia. The wars in the Middle East are also economically based. Iran and Saudi Arabia are both fighting over dominance over the region. Iran is not allied with Iraq, despite both of them being majority Shia.
