Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nier automata director wishes for PS VITA 2 or at least a smaller version of switch, which is a bit too big for him ( as a handheld console ) !

He'd think my penis was GIGANTIC!

It's fine if you don't understand, but a lack of personal understanding isn't grounds for something being untrue. There's a lot of physical variability with humans. Hell, i'm friends with someone whose 19 and is too short to go on half the rides at Thorpe park

I understand there are exceptions but just look the console on the hands of a little kid

-snip-

You really need to have very little hands to have a problem with Switch, it doesn't look that big even on this child hands.

Now look it on the hands of an adult, its way smaller than it looks at first glance

-snip-

All these pictures show is that the Switch approximately fits in their hands. I could send you a picture of me holding a Vita or 3DSXL and it'd look totally normal. Doesn't stop them giving me cramps. It's not just hand size either, it's how you like to hold things, how flexible your fingers are, what effect staying in specific angles has on your hand joints. There are a long list of variables.

I really don't understand what the argument is here. You seem to think Yoko's entirely subjective expression of preference for a handheld is somehow invalid. It's not like he thinks the thing is massive, nor is he claiming to speak on behalf of gamers at large, all he said is it's "a bit too big". That's it. Literally just "a bit". Surly your understanding of subjectivity can extend to such a tame statement?

Hell, maybe it doesn't feel uncomfortable to him at all, maybe he just doesn't like the size. The standard iPad feels fine to me, but i still bought an Air instead because i liked the size more. The normal iPad was "a bit too big" for me.

Switch is smaller than an iPad mini, it's roughly one third the size smaller, the's not much smaller it can really go tbh he's not making much sense with this statement because even as a dedicated portable the size is fine and in line with other devices for example without the JC the unit is actually roughly the same size as a Vita with the latter actually being slightly larger in width and the former slightly larger in height.

JCs don't add much size (they're actually quite small) and are customizable in how someone uses them as well to usher in an evolution in how someone plays on the go, maybe he hasn't had the chance to try the device yet but smaller size isn't really an issue people who bought it have as it's a lot smaller than what people expected.

What doesn't make sense about a preference? He's not claiming to speak on behalf of gamers at large, it's just "a little too big" for him personally. Maybe he likes to keep stuff in a pocket and the Switch is too big for him, maybe it's slightly uncomfortable in his hands, or maybe he just in general prefers stuff to be smaller. Regardless to the specifics, it's just a matter of preference. They're not preferences i share, but i can't still understand them for what they are.

Really, I don't get how people are getting blowing this size thing up. People want a device the size of the PSP/Vita that fits in their pocket and replaces their Smartphone.

Switch is great, but it is a bagable device, which is not convenient. We need a pocketable mobile gaming device that can be pocketed.

Hopefully both Sony and Nintendo will offer pocket sized, and connected handhelds in the near future that can play Switcb and PS4 games.

Swich can be miniturized next year with Tegra 2, and Nintendi would be very wise to make that happen.

Handhelds need to come out against the phone industry, and they need to be refined on a yearly bases. As gamers we deserv a platform that offers quality games and basic features in a device that fits in our pocket.

Developers and Publishers want it. Nintendo and Sony need to deliver.

So one person says this and suddlendly that's what "the people", developers and publisher wants? You are giving weight to a comment that probably has none, this guy is probably just a Sony enthusiast that loved the Vita and that's it.

I really don't understand where is the argument here neither, you have people here acting like what this guy said was the truth and a real serious problem of switch when they haven't even touched it, but you don't feel the need to go at them to explain them that everything is relative. Where did I said his preference was invalid? How is me disagreeing with him automatically means I'm invalidating his opinion? He thinks is too big, ok, I think is not at all, I'm giving my opinion, one that is shared with most people that has actually touched and played the console, is really annoying to have comments like the one from Nem, that hasn't even touched the thing, acting like he was right all along when he said Switch will totally fail for being too big just because now one single man has said he thinks is a bit too big, I think that's way worse than anything I said by a country mile. But this whole discussion is probably not very worth it since the right answer of this thread seems to be the one from Rol, as usual.

I don't know anyone who put his PSP and Vita in his pocket. And people won't leave their smartphones home for a PSP or Vita lol.

How many people did you know with PSP and Vita? Everyone I knew that had them carried them in their pocket.

If Sony released a PlayStation Phone running on a 7nm version of the PS4 APU, and the PS4 OS, there would be millions of people leaving iOS and Android. Most people I know only have iOS/Android because they have no other option. Many tried to move to Windows Phone, but have had to return to iOS or Android, because they could not get anything else on contract when they had to upgrade or replace a broken phone.

Without a doubt, if we had a PS4 Phone, and a Switch phone, there would be 300+ Million people using those device in less than 5 years from now. They would both blow past 50 million sales in Japan alone.

You know why it doesn't make much sense because he brings up a device that's the same size as it, it's a contradiction, Vita and Switch are about the same size so his preference as you put it isn't making much sense in this statement as I've got both devices and done a comparison, I'll upload pictures if you want.
