Yes, and it's a travesty it has no NA blu-ray release. Stellaris does and it was well worth the 'Criterion surtax'.

But Stellaris is a game, you meant Solaris.

Oops yes, and not the one with George Clooney.

Kokuhaku (Confessions)

(sorry I couldn't find a better quality trailer)

One of the best films I've ever seen, and they never even released it in the US even though it got shortlisted for the foreign film oscar :(

The editing and cinematography in this film are incredible. Absolutely love every second of it.

A Japanese live action movie that seemed to have decent actors? going to watch it just for that alone based on the trailer.

Seriously, Japanase have good ideas for their movies, but the actors are so bad is almost unwatchable at times....they are like robots.

As for my pick, not sure if it's underrated since it was nominated for some Oscars (didn't won a single one sadly), Cidade de Deus (City of God in English), a brazilian movie which holy fuck is amazing, is the story of a favela.

Super cliche trailer, but it's the only one I found in English:

I wouldn't call this underappreciated, most movie enthusiast love this movie.

It's in my top 10.

I submit to you two candidates.

1) Trainspotting. This movie is a "Cult Classic" but too many people do not know about it.

2) The Man From Earth. Just a very little known but excellent film.

The Road

It is a post-apocalyptic tale of a journey of a father and his young son over a period of several months, across a landscape blasted by an unspecified cataclysm that has destroyed most of civilization and, in the intervening years, almost all life on Earth.

The book is better, albeit more greusome.

Battleship

Battleship? Really?!? Battleship!?!

That movie was freaking terrible. Bad acting, bad plot, bad casting. The only good thing in that moview as the sound design.

Collateral, Network, GoodFellas

I think both the book and movie are great, but I hate how they end. Way too safe and convenient an outcome that comes out of nowhere. I think McCarthy just didn't know how to conclude his story, and was worried it would be too pointlessly somber if the boy didn't end up with a  (relatively) happy ending. Otherwise a gripping story, so it doesn't totally ruin them for me.

Thought of another one. This one's fairly big budget hollywood, but I feel like it somehow got forgotten to time, and it's absolutely a shame.

Road to Perdition (2002)

Really stylish mob film with hyper-realistic cinematography based on a comic of the same name. I'm willing to bet many of you have already seen this one, but if you haven't, it's totally worth checking out.

Punch-Drunk Love
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
