Forums - Sony Discussion - *Rant* Why are Vita memory cards still so damn high!?!

Tagged games:

I paid a $100 to buy a 32GB Vita memory card the day before the console launched. From the beginning, finding Vita games in retail form has been a challenge but I still built an impressive library. I realized right away that memory card space we precious and in short supply. Still, my card filled up quickly and l son had to skip games altogether or delete other games I wanted to keep.

The console, in my opinion, was not successful. Not compared to the PSP, anyway. It's still home to some great titles, though. So, with the Vita winding down (I assume), I decide I want to buy some games I missed out on.

I can't find them at retail. I can't buy them on Amazon. Digital is pretty much my only option. I go to buy a 64gb card. ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS.

What the shit!?! Why doesn't Sony want me to buy their games? Why hasn't the price gone down? If anything, I think the price went up!!

Because of money, money and money!

DRM.... they where scared of piracy and so took it upon themselves to try and make their own memory technology.
They shouldnt have.

It's the year 2017. SCEA decided that it's over in 2014.

More specifically on topic, Sony knows that d21lewis will break down and buy anyway.

I probably am. But Damn. If they were cheaper, I'd have more games and more cards right now.

Ahh, threads like these always reminds me of my old rage days ahahah. But I agree. High priced memory cards are ONE of the reasons why Vita failed...

The price of memory cards is literally the only reason I don't own a PSTV.

I was doing fifo work when I got my vita so price didn't really matter though my memory cards ended up filled with movies. I still only have the 3 games-killzone (came as a package) and ffx/x-2.

Wow, I managed to get a 64GB Memory Card for around $75 back in July 2015 and I thought that was bad. It's probably stock issues causing the price to be that high considering Sony pretty much discontinued the Vita in the US about a year ago.

Oh wow! And I thought buying SD cards for the Switch would be expensive.

Pocky Lover Boy!

To be honest, I didn't buy the vita because of the memory cards. I want to download a game and keep it, not constantly deleting games just to play other ones
