That wouldn't solve anything, criminals in Brazil have alot of armaments and gangs. Only the authorities could fix the situation, but everything in Brazil is corrupt and out of hand.
Really, the only advice i have is... get out of there. I met a brazillian here in the Nederlands and she was super happy that she left. She said she would never go back because she never felt safe there.
You speak english and you speak portuguese. Emmigration options there. I wouldn't stay there at all.
That really sucks. I'd suggest getting out of there. The USA might not be as welcoming to people from Latin America at the moment, but you could always head for Europe or a neighbouring country.

I'd leave. Either to a safer South American country or head for North America. I'd suggest Europe but getting from where you live to there may be difficult. It may just be faster to head to the US or Canada
Must be devastating. I'm sorry for your loss. People in places like here in Canada are too lucky and spoiled for their own good, yet they b*tch about every single thing, not knowing people living in many other countries would risk their lives for the amenities we have readily available. Once again, I'm sorry.

It's not useless it shows you have been educated to a high standard. I certainly take your point it was probably not the best choice. Were you planning on going into criminal law? That would seem dangerous in itself if the system is corrupt.
Is there not a better place in Brazil you can move to if leaving the country is not an option? Better to be poor and alive than a rich corpse so if it means a drop in living standards it may still be worth doing.
I honestly wish you the very best of luck in getting yourself safe with a better future.
Do you have any distant relatives in other countries that could help you move there?
