Switch or Switch TV?

A Switch TV is boring and defeats the whole purpose of the system. If you want a powerful, stay at home gaming machine, you've got two other options that will serve your needs.

Would I buy a Switch TV? Not if I already owned a Switch. Whats the point? Will other people who didn't buy a Switch buy a Switch TV for a much cheaper price? Millions.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

Switch FC: SW-0398-8858-1969

Nintendo made a 3DS without the 3D. They made a GBA for the GameCube. This will happen.

Personally for me no since I'm buying the regular Switch.

If it had a better chipset though, then yes.

No, the whole major selling point of the thing is the fact that its a portable console.

Vita also.. still.. the 99$ Vita TV could had been a succes if Sony had suportet it better.

If people (like me) dont really need the portable part.. a 199$ "Switch TV" could be what I would choose.. But still only 100$ to get the hole Switch experinces (portable and touch) Is to litle..

But if "Switc TV" was 149$ I think I would choose that.. (but i'm also pretty broke)

BUT.. And read this.. pretty important in this debat..

I dont think Nintendo will make "Switch TV"... I think The TV producers will make "Em"

I totally think that Nvidia and Nintendo will start to offer TV manufactors that use tegra to power theire TV.. % of all game sold..

Nvidia working With Nintendo (for decades) can take on the hole casual marked this way... sell games to people that dont even has a console... think if future smart tv comes with "N-channel" and has.. (lets say) Mario sunshine preinstallet.. and BOTW and Splatoon 2 demos) and mayby 2 joycons

Lot of variables. I mean, what if you already had a PS3 or PS4? You could just use what you already had. And if Nintendo went this route, who says they had to do it now? They could wait a year.

To be honest, I don't even know what I'm defending. I guess, that there's a possibility and all of those "It costs too much" or "I don't want a portable" people could finally shut up.

Then again, the Vita (with its abysmal fist party support) wasn't a success. Maybe a non portable Switch would just follow suit.

If you already owned a DualShock 3 or 4, you would have a superior controller to the actual Vita, especially if remote play was among your reasons to buy a Vita. But a similar controller scenario obviously cannot work for Switch.

And yeah, lots of people are screaming "too expensive". Then they just shouldn't buy one at launch. Price and bundle options are only going to get better after launch.

You don't like it, you don't buy it.

More or less how  see it. The Switch has a set of features to attract consumers: a combination of portability and console gaming, motion controls, and access to Nintendo's library. If that ain't worth $300 to you, wait for a price cut. The whole console is already designed around the portability concept. Stuff like the powerful mobile processor and motion control are all also part of the cost. Is a screenless Switch at $200 really all that appealing?

in a heartbeat. But i don't think it's the display that adds the cost.

After all the shit they've done, I'm going with option 3 in your poll.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

It would be as useless as the Wii mini. Why would you want less features? Like really?

It would have to go lower in price cause I can see the Switch getting a price cut of $50 soon enough and it actually does have to be compatible with all games unlike the Vita TV.
