Like most people said, it depends on the game's art style. For games that strive for realism, 6th gen is still fine with me. Games like Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4 are definitely acceptable.
5th gen is definitely tough to handle though.

For 2D games it depends entirely on the art-style. For 3D games I would say PS2/GC/XBOX. I still play SSX3 sometimes.

I'm willing to sacrifice almost anything else (graphically speaking) for a fluid, life-like animation.
I find down to NES graphics acceptable, except some parts of the PS1/N64 era. Some games looked and moved very oddly and find them kinda hard to play.
