Forums - Sales Discussion - Final Fantasy 15 PS4 sales stomp all over the Xbox One version

Meh, XB1 gamers buy more of their games digitally and sony games only buy physical games. If we had digital numbers it would be a totally different story.

It could look a bit different for sure, but I wouldn't expect anything that drastic. The difference in behaviours between PS4 and Xbox owners probably isn't that big anyway (and I think we don't even know who buys the most digital games), and even the userbases alone practically guarantee a 'victory' for PS4 here. Going by userbases alone, the PS4 version should get about 66% (or roughly 2/3) of the sales anyway.

On another note, I think the whole preloading thing was an ingenious idea. Allowing people download the game 2-3 days before it's release date creates this strange sense of getting a game before it's released and being able to play it before anyone can go to a store and come back home. technically, if you hsve to wait for a store to open before you can buy it, preloading kinda means you get the game hours earlier than anyone else.

Is preloading a new thing on consoles? It's been happening for what must be like a decade on PC, so this sounds quite... humorous at this point.

Probably not...

Scorpio port? isnt the scorpio an XB1?

If he doesn't mean a version that takes advantage of Scorpio's extra power, I'm really surprised.

One could say 'clutching at straws'

By user base, its  55% or something for the PS4 version. The problem is the difference in tastes rather than userbase advantage. The gap will be bigger in other countries where the Xbox One isn't doing well.

20% is still a pretty fat chunk of sales. No company would want to just lose 20% of their sales.

I do think it'll be re-release on Scorpio along with PC. Possibly Switch even as well. SE will milk the hell outta it because the development cost was likely sky high.

I'd be quite surprised if this game gets a Scorpio patch in a year.

Patching a year old game that doesn't sell well on the console just seems something strange to do. Unless that requirement was some how agreed on in advance.

Thats my reasoning too. I could honestly easily see it turn out that way.

20% of their sales in the US,UK,AUS..... rest of the world? much less than that.

Total sales world wide it might only be 10% or so.

I dont think there will be a switch version of FF15.

I think the Scorpio will run the same Xbox One version the current system has, just at more stable fps.

Ei. no FF15 at 4k, for scorpio.

Why? because it probably isnt cost effective for squre enix to do that port.

PC will eventually get a port... give it a year or two.

I'd suspect even if it's 15% of the North American market, the real numbers might justify it for SquareEnix.  Wasn't it like 5 million sold worldwide?  It might be around 750,000 units for the One.

If the game has some short of FPS aspect or shooting aspect then it might sell well on Xbox One or perhaps some macho guy and bald guy holding guns.
